Looks like Brassard scored for sure, but I never trust Toronto.

Really heads up by the boys to put it away for sure.

Rangers fans really are hostile. I don't think the Leafs fan meant anything bad. He just phrased it wrong. I think he meant that he wants us to finally do well. Why are the shots at a guy who had good intentions necessary?

I actually agree with you. That said, most fan bases are hostile and unwelcoming of any outsiders posting on their board.

Richards scores a goal and has a few lackluster moments in otherwise good 8 playoffs games, people still ***** about him.

Meanwhile in hater goggle land carl hagelin skates away majesticly doesn't absolutely nothing.

I can't tell if you're actually hating on Hagelin or not. Cuz, uh, grammar and full/intelligible sentences are apparently hard.

But if you are: Yea, he totally did nothing. Only forechecked hard, got the puck, and passed to Richie for the 2nd goal.

Agreed with your comments on Richards though; he's been pretty solid this postseason.

Very happy with Richards this playoff year.

Game 2 becomes really huge. You'd love to put all the pressure in the world on Fleurys back...something he hasnt exacly been great at accepting.

Anyone else notice how as soon as we beat the Pens in 1 game, everyone starts acting like they're closet rangers fans? Ahh I love this time of year.

Honestly, no. Are you referring to the one person who came in and said good luck that a few people here acted obnoxious towards? I only post here and history of hockey, so I'm not really seeing it. Were there a slew of other people I missed somewhere?

I didn't see the game but voted for The King, The Psychonaut and Mr Brassed off.

Also good as h*ll to win game 1 in Pittsburgh.

I missed the game. :(

Great feeling to hop on here and see NYR 1 PIT 0

Let's keep this up.

You are not alone.

Just was a busy, hectic day this week for me with a lot of work. I was dead tired yesterday and by 6 o' clock, I had this feeling as if I could feel all the veins in my head pulsating with blood rush, so I was scared of what a Rangers playoff game would do to me on top of that.

Thank God I didn't stay up to watch because the game went to OT, and, yay, we won in OT!

A couple of thoughts:

-Staal-Stralsy had the most dominant performance in the game, Staal is playing better and better the longer the season goes on.

-Hank looked sharp.

-We won because our 3rd scored a goal. BR played pretty well and they got a bounce. I think that line is the key to the series...

-Nash-Step-MSL played real well against the toughest match-up in the league. Pittsburgh has a real hard time handling Nash down low, we got our best chances that didn't result in goals from two awsome plays by him down low.

-We need all of the above because Pitt pwns us on the special team.

-Unless we get a few bounces in the coming games, this is going to be a real tough series for us.

-I think most players played well (maybe McD-Girardi could be a bit better), but I especially want to point out that John Moore is starting to pick a few stuff up and play a perfectly solid D game.

We were lucky to get the win...however...something has to be done with Kunitz before we lose the King or a top D man from one of them kamikaze runs he takes into the end boards....he will eventually hurt somebody....time to be pro active .

Man, the Pens fans on HF are really down on Crosby (lazy, lack of effort, can't wait for summer, etc...). Much more so than we are on Nash. I think Sid's having a rough playoffs and never really liked the guy but I've never thought of that guy as someone who is just collecting a paycheck.

Crosby is def hurt, but so is McD. The weird thing about McD, is that it seems that he can still shoot the puck with force, but is very hesitant to hit and avoids being in vulnerable situations to be hit.
Just imagine if Nash (and the so called first line) and the PP were producing at an average rate...

Mostly agree. Staal's been our best d-man in the playoffs. After that it's a tie between Girardi and Stralman. Girardi's brought some offense while leading the team in blocks and hits. His 5 points in 8 games mitigates McDonagh's 0 in 8 though it's not helping to get our pwp going. Girardi's shown up in the three stars of the game 3 times already in the playoffs. Stralman just so calm, cool and collected. Just a smart player who almost always makes the right decision. Moore and Klein are a dependable--not a great--pairing. Three defense pairs and almost no running around in our defensive end. It seemed that with Moore paired with DZ that's all that pair ever did. It helps that the top two pairings have been playing together for a long while now.

Pittsburgh's pwp did not look awesome last night. It's nothing to fool with though. Crosby had almost no positive impact on the game. Speculation that he's playing hurt may be true. I'm thinking the same with McDonagh. The thing with both of them is that playing a bunch of games in a short span of time is not likely to help either. If the Rangers somehow could manage to knock the Pens off in 4 or 5 a few days rest might help McDonagh a lot. Wouldn't be surprised at this point in time that both he and/or Crosby have off season surgery.

Fleury looks shakier than runny **** to me. The Pouliot goal was weak IMO. He was either scrambling around in his goal crease or making bad decisions playing the puck. **** goaltending can take the life right out of a team--no matter how talented it is. You'd expect the Pens to be a lot better in the next game but it has to start with Fleury or they're ****ing toast unless Zatkoff can come off the bench and save them.
