Blue Jackets fans are cute. Apparently Crosby was flying last night because there was no Brandon "Datsyuk" Dubinsky. I don't remember all this "flying". He was not on the ice for any of the goals and had 3 shots. Jackets fans really overrating their team.

Hope he keeps "flying", then, for our sake. (-3)

Hopefully, Blue Jackets East > Blue Jackets West, too.

Educated guess; Ryan McDonagh has a labrum injury (similar to Callahan, Hagelin) and is playing very hurt. We'll find out after the playoffs.

If playing hurt will make whatever he has worse (and the team worse!), then he needs to sit out.

-3 and no points. If that's him flying, I hope he plays that way the rest of the series.

This is exactly what I've been thinking.

If playing hurt will make whatever he has worse (and the team worse!), then he needs to sit out.

But the thing is he's not. If it endangers his future, I agree (although I don't think a labrum tear does that, not sure though).

You have to think in concept though, would Diaz and Moore slot into his position and fill it better then he has been, my answer would be no.

McD hasn't been the same player, which is why we are all moaning and groaning. But he hasn't been terrible as people are making it seem.

It's hard to judge him since we became used to his elite play. He's still been steady and making good plays with his stick. The most glaring thing has been his PP ability. He has been terrible in both his decisions and lack of shooting.

Thing is, that can be fixed by removing him and replacing him with either Staalsy or Stralman, both of whom have some ability on the PP as shown in the past. It would also further allow him to 100% focus solely on his D responsibilities.

They let Callahan play, and he hasn't been the same since. ****, they let him play the ENTIRE regular season with that injury.

And they let Gaborik play with that injury the season before that. They also let Staal play in 2011 while he had PCS symptoms. It wouldn't surprise me at all if McD was playing injured.

I don't think that injury specifically slowed down Callahan, I think it was a sum of the parts.

Toews played in the SCF WITH a concussion last year.

Say what you want, this is the playoffs. Guys don't know if they'll be back or get these opps year in year out. They'll risk everything to do it. Personally, I love McD and want to see his # hang from the rafters, but I have no problem if he's playing injured now. That's what the playoffs are about.

Absolutely not with Stralman on the PP. He could have 8 goals so far but he can't hit the net. No chance. We really miss elite McDonagh, but I agree he's been good. He just hasn't been elite, we were used to flawless play.

****in' Burrows.

We're in a playoff run and injured McDonagh has still been better than Diaz or Falk would have been.

Man, the Pens fans on HF are really down on Crosby (lazy, lack of effort, can't wait for summer, etc...). Much more so than we are on Nash. I think Sid's having a rough playoffs and never really liked the guy but I've never thought of that guy as someone who is just collecting a paycheck.

Idiots on every team's pages.

Having a bad shoulder doesn't give McD a pass for being out of position. He has been caught up ice a bunch of times. He is definitely playing hurt, but a lot of his bad plays have had nothing to do with his injury.

Does anyone know if contract restructuring is possible in the CBA? I surely wouldn't be opposed to restructuring Richards' contract. Even if you give him the same/slightly more but only for three or four years I would do it.

I couldn't see the second period because of a business meeting, but a plethora of posters on other sites who aren't fans of either NY or Pitt said it was blatant goalie interference and should have been a penalty and no goal. Is what it is though... we got the W and managed the rare feat of winning by two in OT. That's kinda cool :D

It was TEXTBOOK goalie interference. Even Milbury and Keith Jones said that goal shouldn't have counted and they always hate us.

No NHL one of the only league that has real contracts... I hate that the nfl u can just cut a bad contract with no cap issue. Ruins the point of a contract

Well cutting vs. both partying agreeing to rework the contract are two different things.

Also, if the Rangers buy out Richards next season, I believe the rules say that they aren't allowed to then resign him after.

He can't play for the Rangers for a full year after a buyout. If he took a one year deal elsewhere maybe we bring him back in 2015-16. Richards has been great in the playoffs, but we need to buy him out regardless. That will be a crippling contract if he retires early or regresses to last year's play.
