Anthony Richardson to IR (4 games)…..this is why I never want a run first QB again…

update: ESPN now saying 4-8 weeks, to be evaluated after 4 weeks.

He’s one of the best, most insightful and entertaining guys on tv right now covering NFL and college football.
I’ll take your word on it. I don’t have time for national talking heads.

Interesting. I’d take Stroud in a second over Howell. Purdy appears to be a system QB. Without baby Shanny I don’t think he has the same success.

Agree to some extent about Purdy. He's getting good protection in San Francisco (big #71 would do wonders for the Commanders O-line right now. Ugh.). Purdy might be one of those QBs who would struggle in a lesser situation.

That said, he's tremendously accurate. He doesn't overthrow and this leads to easier catches for receivers. Drew Brees was the master of that.

Baby Shanny made Griffin ROY. Keep that in mind.

Seriously, who the f*** is Pat McAfee? Wait, I just looked him up. He’s a retired idiot kicker. It all makes sense.

Interesting.

I don't even need to look at Washington's yards after catch is probably pathetic by the receiving core. Remember Doctson made a good juke after a catch and the DB just hit him with his arm and he went down like he was shot.

This seems to support that he’s not just a system QB, that he’s playing great.
Well it’s hard to say whether he is or isn’t a system QB considering he won’t be out of that system for a long time. If ever.

He’s very good, Baby Shanny’s system is very good and it doesn’t hurt that he has players like McCafferty, Debo, Kittle and Aiyjuk surrounding him. And an excellent O-line. Having said that, he’s played 10 games. He could be the next Brady but I’ll wait to see him play a full season and make a deep playoff run before I jump on the bandwagon.

Baby Shanny with Purdy reminds me of Herb Brooks in Miracle… “I’m not looking for the best players, Craig, I’m looking for the right ones.”

Given his love for Cousins and his success with guys who like to put their foot in the ground and throw it, plus the headaches he had with RGIII not wanting to be a running QB, the Lance trade remains baffling to me.

Serious question that’s not specific to the football team, why is it necessary to stand at a sporting event? Sheehan brought this up on his pod yesterday. You can cheer just as loud while seated in the seat you payed a lot of money for.

Like stand the whole time? That‘s annoying…..concerts are even worse…so I just plan on standing/dancing the whole show lol…

At least we’re not Carolina who gave up what’s almost guaranteed to be a top three pick.

Separately, just saw a staggeringly bad stat. Ron has been coach of this team for 56 games and they’ve been tied or losing in 41 of them. That’s 75%. Would seem to me that this stat speaks to poor game planning by the coaching staff.

How about this one for looking bad for the coaching staff:

Opposing QBs have a QBR of 58ish when we are in zone, and 72ish in man. JDR ran man for the entire Chicago debacle.

Sports talking heads notes:

- lots of man coverage which is fine if youre getting pressure but if you arent then you can give up big plays ... only way Fields and Bears could beat you is if you allowed explosive plays. Should have done soft zones and force Fields to stay inaccurate and impatient underneath

- JDR needs to move guys around bc rushing 4 the same way every time is not working

- Jon Allen plantar facitis might be effecting his play, plus tons of snaps w little TC conditioning

- need to roll safety over Forbes if he is going to be aggressive ... we drafted him to be aggressive

- Barton tape not good

- JDRs plan that our 11 can beat their 11 so we dont have to scheme isnt working

- mentioned going cinco or down 5 linemen which is what i want to see

that‘s what was exactly discussed yesterday on the ESPN shows. This offseason, Kraft needs to go to Bill and tell him he’s hiring a GM, and if Bill balks, you move on finally.

His recent draft record is atrocious.
I don't know what changed in their process, front office structure, or personnel department but his draft record the past decade has been mostly awful. People slobbered all over him because he was the king of "trade back and acquire more picks" but what quality players over that time frame has he developed? There are plenty of guys who have played games for them but I think I can count on two hands the number of players that are bonafide difference makers that he's drafted since 2013. I mean, check this list out and tell me who the cornerstone players are that he's drafted since 2013.

Haven’t looked yet, but ESPN talking heads said like 2….lol…

Yeah standing the whole game. Buddy of mine used to have lower bowl seats at FedEx and I used them once a season at least. I spent the entire time standing accept during timeouts. Big 3rd down play for the defense, or other big moments of the game, I can understand but the entire game makes no sense.
