Post-Game Talk: GM 53 | Canucks def. Avs 3-0 (DeBrusk, Boeser, O’Connor) | WE ARE SO F***ING BACK

Gutsy victory when the other guys had their version of Hughes but the Canucks didn't have their own.

A lot to like, most importantly Demko looking like a game-changer again. I think we're nowhere near out of the woods (no pun intended on this night), but that's encouraging.

D-Petey (or as the FlashScore app has him, "Elias Pettersson II.") is a revelation. The callup-to-mainstay narrative is looking like Alex Edler's story so far.

There's just one more eight hundred pound gorilla in the room to deal with, and then we can get to our happy place.

edit: Oh yeah, I hate how they played that 5-on-3. Could have drilled a nail into the coffin and instead they chose to play keepaway.

"People talk about accountability.

Except when it comes to the coach".....

@PuckMunchkin

you are so delusional?

Coach just won the game shut out the high flying Avs and won the Jack Adams meanwhile excuse after excuse for.........

Say what you want about the Hughes vs Makar debate, but there's no chance in hell that any defenceman on the Canucks would play 3 minutes more than Hughes.

Are we sure after tonight?

I must say that was a huge win and I am so stoked with the new faces of this team. Looks like a brand new team with the steady defense of M.Pettersson. The thunderous hits by EP25. Chytils speed, breakout ability and net drive. O'Connors speed and grit against the boards. I absolutely love it. So much more entertaining then the usual dump and chase.

Love seeing the team have eachothers backs for once. Hoglander running wild on Wood when he speared Karlsson was awesome. Finally some spirit and love for eachother.

So happy that Demko came out solid making some unbelievable consecutive stops and getting the worthy shutout. Stoked for him.

Very happy Canucks fan here. This win was refreshing to say the least.

Actually impressive 6-on-5 defense? Didn't seem like the Avs ever had a good look, lots of good sticks. For once held onto a lead without looking like we were hanging on for dear life.

That late PP was criminal though, holy shit... I watched the Sens game yesterday and both teams had such better setups.
To be fair, a 5 on 3 pp is so rare for us, we haven't got the hang of it yet.

It’s amazing the thing we’ve been clamouring for all year - to fix the D - has finally happened and Lo and behold, the team is playing better hockey. MP3 and D-Petey have both been really good.

Pedey and Meatboy both impressive.

Pete? My patience for him is running out.

RAPIDLY.

Team quite literally did everything within their power to accomodate him. And he's giving the team f***-all. Yeah there are some good things going, but when you're paid 11 mil and has the whole team kissing your ass, "good things" alone is just pathetic.

Couple more games and he should be tossed out. It's increasingly becoming an embarrassment.

Maybe this is a clown-take, but I'll say it anyway.

Makar is really good, but I really don't think he's that special. I think he feasts with the system he plays in, and having a stacked forward group in Mackinnon/Rantanen/Landeskog/Nichushkin + Necas to work with.

Hughes controls the flow of the game, whereas Makar thrives if the flow of the game is working in his favor.

Going from the bleakest Blueline in the league to this over night with MP and EP2 is crazy.

Still lots of work to do up front but this was a promising game from the team.

Hopefully Boeser and DeBrusk can get on a bit of a roll.

Also nice to see Demko have this type of game. That sequence in the second period was incredible to watch.

First Demko game where he looked like Demko. Hope he can keep this up.

Agree with those saying Karlsson looks good. He’s strung together a few strong games now.

Impressive game without Miller and Hughes and with Pettersson and Boeser not doing much.
I thought he looked better and better as the game went on and was great in the third.

But he also has three posts in the first, I think, and that really could have been the game.
