I watched the whole thing, Young did next to nothing. Frankly the 49ers’ D line was handled fairly easily by the Eagles’ O line all game. Hurts had all day to throw all game long but the 9ers’ secondary played really well.As an aside…having the game on in the background, I don’t recall hearing young’s name mentioned once.
It’ll be interesting for sure. Take a QB, take BPA, or hopefully fleece an organization (like the Bears did the Panthers last year) to stockpile assets; three options each with their pros and cons.If we end up 3rd I find it hard to believe a new front office and new owner can resist taking their new franchise changing QB. Drake Maye might follow Howell again lol
Love seeing this…F the Eagles….
Kyle’s offense is almost unstoppable when he has everyone healthy. People shit on Purdy as being a “system QB” but he’s a perfect fit for what they do and it’s easy to see why Kyle like Cousins so much — Kirk is Purdy but with a better arm. They’re going to be tough to stop if they stay healthy.I watched the whole thing, Young did next to nothing. Frankly the 49ers’ D line was handled fairly easily by the Eagles’ O line all game. After the 1st quarter the 9ers’ offense was unstoppable and the biggest reason they won so handily, IMO.
trade down for more picksIf we end up 3rd I find it hard to believe a new front office and new owner can resist taking their new franchise changing QB. Drake Maye might follow Howell again lol
Coming into a busted situation without room for a real fresh start taints the coach. Game plan has to be simple to get everyone on the same page, which makes the coach seem simple, and if everyone doesn’t get around it right away and gel then some of the losing gets put on the guy who likely can’t even use his chosen playbook.Firing RR is inevitable…stop letting him taint these players….
Again, never said this was a quick fix…you like to suggest things that people are thinking and miss quite a bit.
Commies sit at 4OA currently and are only a game behind the Cards for 3OA. The Cards and Bears play each other in two weeks which will be interesting to watch.
It’s not out of the picture that they pick 3OA. This could end up being a really successful season yet!
Yea, I imagine everything will be on the table this offseason. It would be kinda nuts (imho) if they move on from Howell, but it wouldn’t necessarily surprise me.If we end up 3rd I find it hard to believe a new front office and new owner can resist taking their new franchise changing QB. The only thing that matters now is to keep losing, which seems like a fairly safe bet.
Your own words paint the picture. "Put up or shut up" in response to JH telling fans to be patient, suggests you don't agree with his approach. Wanting RR gone in week 12-14 instead of after week 17 suggests impatience as well. There's no magical balm to be found firing the HC so late but not after the season ends... certainly no big "turnaround" coming as a result.Firing RR is inevitable…stop letting him taint these players….

That works in hockey because getting simple and on the same page can win you games, that’s the structure of the game. It’s not really the same with NFL coaching, “get it in deep and go to work” doesn’t get you anywhere.

Any players who are susceptible to being "tainted" by RR, really shouldn't be part of the future anyway. There's maybe 3-5 players on this roster who's jobs should not be in question. Possibly fewer.
There is a complete rebuild coming. Top to bottom. Its going to require hiring absolutely rock star FO staff and then brilliant coaches, and give them time to turn this 25 year old disaster around. A few more weeks of RR won't be a difference maker in our future. A higher draft pick might.
And I totally disagree a “complete rebuild” is coming. They’re not burning it down, they’re replacing management/coaching staff.
Is the current team willing to sell out on the field for RR every game? If so then keep him until the end of the season. Nobody is going to step in and work some magic X and O trick.
If they're phoning it in then no need for him to stick around.
Who on this current roster has genuinely demonstrated they are part of a winning future? I see 5-6 guys maybe. The rest are all JAG's, nothing special, zero WAR type players. Allen, Payne, Curl, Terry and Howell are about the only ones who cannot be upgraded relatively easily by a competent front office. Coaching isn't the only problem with this team.
They just traded away two of they better players for draft picks. That smells of rebuilding, and that was when the team quit on the coaches.
If they do decide to take a QB at the top of the draft, trading Howell would also make sense, and he should fetch something decent in return. Lots of big decisions for the new FO, lets hope they're clairvoyant AF.
