More than the content of what he said, Servalli hit he nail on the head: he actually did sound a little drunk.

This is what I took from it too. The comments are a bit uncouth, but I don't think think that there are any bad intentions behind them and we have seen plenty of PBP guys just kind of go off on their own tangent and kind of get lost off the rails. I don't have to listen to Jack, but I will also say as an aside that 40 seconds a random tangent having some fun with the eating habits / size of a player with no actual PBP would annoy the hell out of me if I were a fan.

But he mostly sounded drunk, or as others have said, maybe it's an age thing or health thing.

I have the same opinion there lol so that might be why I don't see it as a problem. In the context of a double standard, I'll give you that.

On the other hand, people should have thick enough skin that being playfully made fun of isn't worth pearl clutching over. I'd say 1000x times that for a professional athlete.

I just have to laugh because one of the popular ideas that pops up once in a while is a feed that isn't PG and has the mic's on so you can hear the players chirp each other. But someone is called fat and this board is outraged.

In all seriousness, do you think there were people out there watching the game that heard that comment and were seriously offended by it or were sent into an eating spiral? I mean, I get it wasn't professional and he should've known better in this day and age to even attempt to joke about that (which in itself sucks to a degree as you can't comment on anything remotely controversial, which makes things much less interesting...but that's a topic for another time) - but what type of chain of events do you think his comment actually caused?
