Not great, but hardly the stupidest thing he's done, like celebrating injured players.
Yeah this isn't really super offensive or anything, more just that calling players fat on live TV is unprofessional. I get that he's on a regional broadcast and all but there has to be some level of professionalism and neutrality lol.

I had the game on in the background and was genuinely concerned he was having a health event on air. Is this how he usually sounds?

There's a thread on the Bruins board about how off Jack has been this year (and actually for the past few season).

I don't think he's drinking on the job but something is definitely off. He's 65, I think his age has caught up to him.
He is 100% drunk on air. Same as Cherry was before he was fired.

People said they noticed it last year, but this year it’s glaringly bad. He has a hard time pronouncing names and is slurring 80% of the time.

Pretty soft to get offended by a light hearted comment that's followed up by praise for the same individual for being a winner.
I'm more concerned about him driving home after the game is over. Hope he's getting a lift to and from the arena.

Even as a Bruins fan i don't like Jack, but this is a bit overblown.

I'm not sure 3 time Stanley Cup champion Patty Maroon can be bothered to give a shit what some masshole commentator says about him.

Jack's from Connecticutt; he's more New Yorker than Masshole.

Been watching the guy for years. It's getting worse and worse as time goes on. Unless he's just been getting progressively drunker every game I don't think it's drinking. It's either his old age or something medical.

When I saw this thread I immediately thought Jack was getting roasted for his Chinese Mustard comment from last night. Only to find out it was something else dumb he said altogether.

As a Bruins fan I've been ready to see Jack sail off into the sunset of his broadcasting career for a few years now.

We already know he's an unprofessional hack that should have been fired long ago.

I guess the controversy is trying to decide if he's drunk or losing it.

I honestly went to your guys' boards and typed out a post in the GDT to ask but decided not to post it. He doesn't sound well.

When he just stuck to the PBP I always thought he was pretty good at it. Had a natural flow, provided emphasis at the right times, was quick with the names and described what was going on well. Sure he was a homer but unless he got his nose out of joint on something specific, the calling the game part was generally quality.

This year he's struggling with stringing a whole sentence together. Not sure if he's just old or what's going on with him but it was particularly bad in the game last night.

As far as the comments on Maroon? It's not really that funny but I doubt Maroon cares or wants Hockey Twitter personas white knighting for him. The art of taking a joke is becoming a lost practice.
