I'm sure Pat has heard and given out worse chirps than this.
He's not the pope, jesus christ.Just weird to come out and say that you know for a matter of fact that he’s shit faced.
Again, not saying he is or isn’t, but knowing for sure might be smart before posting it online.
So you don’t know for a fact? He's not the pope, jesus christ.

Gotta love how treating people with respect is somehow "soft" and a negative trait for people...
Same. I don't mind Edwards at all. He's really good at his job, knows his hockey, and is pretty good at calling the game.I think Edwards is an excellent announcer. He knows the opposing players and their numbers and has a professional voice and knows the game. He is a generational homer, but whatever.
I don't think its really a controversy, its just people calling out edwards for acting like a pos.Same. I don't mind Edwards at all. He's really good at his job, knows his hockey, and is pretty good at calling the game.
He's obviously a huge homer, but he calls games on the local feed, so he's allowed to be one. Besides, he still shows excitement when the opposing teams score or make nice plays. Unlike other homer announcers out there that hilariously show zero emotion when the opposing team does anything.
That being said, he does go on strange unprofessional rants/tangents sometimes. This is one of those cases. Not his finest moment. He even sounds a bit drunk. But at the end of the day, it's still pretty tame in the grand scheme of things, and not really worthy of some grand "controversy".
Oh, I know it’s common. I just can’t believe no one would step in there knowing his voice is being heard by hundreds of thousands of people.More common than you think. Don Cherry was the same near the end of this career.
Good. Hopefully it stays that way.I don't think its really a controversy, its just people calling out edwards for acting like a pos.
People should just learn to laugh at shit. Like Jack is a huge nerd, says stupid shit that just makes me laugh because it’s so outrageous.
It’s not like a “this guy is hilarious” laugh, it’s like “this guy is an idiot laugh”
The guy is f***ed, but it’s hardly anything to get upset and worked up over like many in here are.
What is wrong with that. If he thinks Pat Maroon is a little overweight, than he can say that.
Of course all those annoying twitter accounts are falling all over him for no reason. Some even calls this fat shaming?
We are watching professional sports here.
Do you really need someone to call the game? Just use your eyes. Swedish commentors in the 80s could go silent for minutes. Today they just talk endlessly about nothing because they love to hear their own voices.Does he have something against calling the game? I don't hear any game commentary in there.
Sure. I don’t disagree with this, however it’s Jack Edwards and he’s an absolute geek. It’s weird that people expect a professional broadcaster to act professional when doing his job.
You don't think that maybe the concern is more for the tons of people watching who are struggling with weight issues and less for the professional athlete?
40 seconds might have been a little long, yes.Yes, but does he need to dedicate 40 seconds to it, while not doing the thing he is paid to do, CALL THE GAME?
Lol he's a professional announcer doing a bit that wasn't funny.JFC......if everything emanated from your pie hole had to be self-censored so as not to 'offend' 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 the entire world would be mute. If such a benign 'insult' like this bothers someone (anyone) that much maybe they're too fragile to exist on this plane.

He is paid to inform us and that’s information.
