People don't hate him for something to do. His attitude and personality make listening to him a genuinely bizarre and unpleasant experience for most of us. But yeah, this isn't an unusually stupid thing for him to do.

Oh, I've listened to entire periods he's called, and so have most of us. He's a weird, creepy idiot, the strangest sports broadcaster I've ever heard by a massive margin, and he'd be one on the face of it even if the clips most of us have seen represented the entirety of weird things he's said, which I very much doubt is the case. And this has nothing to do with which team he works for -- I'd have nothing bad to say about a competent and engaging Bruins play-by-play guy. I think you guys just don't really hear him anymore after so many years.
