Imagine if Gord Miller doesn't call the action and instead just goes on and on about Matthews' gigantic nostrils or receding hairline for the entire shift. It would be completely unprofessional and unjustified for a play by play guy to spend his time on.

To be fair, Marchand seems to occasionally get jokes about his nose.

Edwards has said like 10,000 things dumber than this.

Pro athletes get “fat shamed” all the time. Like all the time. They are literally in the industry of maintaining their bodies at top performance, so any time one of them seems fat they’re going to get talked about. This is not like calling out random people on the street for their body types. Bunch of nothing here.

Jack has literally talked about pinning his sister to the ground once he was physically able to. I can't believe this is what made people extra mad at Jack of all things.

That whole game, Edwards seemed a little more...unhinged than normal. He's always a huge Bruins homer and says some absolutely ridiculous stuff...but that game he was really just letting weird comments flow extra freely. There were a bunch of moments where he diverted into pretty strange commentary on things well outside of that particular game.

Genuinely did seem like he might be a little bit drunk or something. Like it was definitely outside the range of his normal shenanigans.
