I don't think any commentator calls play the full 60min game lol.Does he have something against calling the game? I don't hear any game commentary in there.
I wonder how he feels about everyone attacking Mitchell Miller & the Bruins over the last few weeks for "things that have nothing to do with how they play hockey"?
That’s literally what it is though. And you’re right, I’m sure Maroon will be okay, but this is a broadcast that a million+ or however many are watching. He’s just perpetuating a pretty juvenile insult. At absolute best, it’s completely unprofessional…and given Edward’s long list of other incidents and comments that go way beyond harmless homerism (eg. actively rooting for injuries), he deserves to be called out by much more than just a handful of media memebers.
Seriously? You think the two things are comparable?I wonder how he feels about everyone attacking Mitchell Miller & the Bruins over the last few weeks for "things that have nothing to do with how they play hockey"?
Seriously? You think the two things are comparable?
40 seconds of play, no description of anything happening on the ice.
Yea, but betting is an accepted, harmless and beloved part of the game. The fatness has no place in hockey.I don't think any commentator calls play the full 60min game lol.
There's lots of chit chat in every broadcast.
Doc Emerick would talk about horse racing/betting for like 5mins every game...
Lighten up.
Maroon is an elite athlete.
Honestly, our society could use some more fat shaming. Obesity is out of control and should not be promoted.
That's crazy.Yea, but betting is an accepted, harmless and beloved part of the game. The fatness has no place in hockey.
Yup, everyone knows if you are successful and wealthy you don’t have the same right to common decency.Won't somebody think of the multimillionaire professional athlete???
I really do think he's had a minor stroke or something of that nature. He's been slurring his words, mixing up guys constantly and just overall not making any sense going back towards the end of last season. There have been times this year where just forming a basic sentence seems like a struggle for him...Listening to that, I'll be honest, I had the same thought as Frank. I really thought Jack sounded drunk.
Yea, was just goofing. Any league promoting gambling to the extent the NHL does, really has no moral authority to stand against something as minor or inoffensive as this. But I suppose the league is not addressing it, so all good. We're on a website that posts Byfuglien and hot dog Kessel memes all of the time.
That's crazy.
Hey look! We found the guy who nods his head and applauds every time a racist says, "I'm no racist, I have black friends!"Right after this Jack went on to say he’s a 3x cup winner and teammates absolutely love this guy.
Of course that doesn’t get mentioned.
That said, yeah a bit of a silly thing to say but alas, here we are getting upset about something so small like usual. It’s literally nothing.
What the f*** are you talking about?Hey look! We found the guy who nods his head and applauds every time a racist says, "I'm no racist, I have black friends!"
Aside from the bad look of making fun of someone's weight, the fact he's supposed to be professional and commenting on the play instead of insulting a player stands out as a reason this is wrong.I am by no means a Jack Edwards fan, but if this actually offends you then you are soft as baby poo
Typical stuff coming from him and also typical responses from people on here. Some are understandably upset over someone being a piece of trash in the comments they make. Some claiming it's a "joke" because it doesn't effect them so everyone should get over it and "lighten up" because they're too dumb to understand that even if it is a joke to them or when they say, other people will use that apathy to legitimately abuse people using that same "joke". Some are using the woke culture bs because they too are pieces of trash and want to continue to be and not get push back on being pieces of trash. Some are using the intentional double speak as a way to get out of calling someone a piece of trash "oh we can ignore the 12 trash things he said because he also included 1 nice thing".
Like I said. Typical in todays day and age.
For years, Jack Edwards has been the worst play-by-play announcer in all of hockey. That has nothing to do with last night's comments.
