I am far from cornered bud, do yourself a favor, go back and look at what I was responding to then tell me who the child was in that exchange . Because I don’t feel comfortable telling people what they can and cannot find amusing that makes me an Elon follower?

A lot like me are beyond sick of his act. Too many rants not enough calling games. This one incident alone shouldn’t get him fired but the accumulation of controversies created by him should be enough for NESN to just show him the door at the end of the season.

However even in the bruins board there’s people who feverishly defend him even when he called polak getting injured hockey karma despite polak having to get stretchered off the ice. Gotta defend the shield at all costs for some of these people.

at first I thought this a thread about the Wrestler New Jack, I'm pretty disappointed that it isn't.

Jack Edwards does suck though.

Yes, calling people 'snowflakes' and asking if they're triggered because they disagree with you sure is mature.

Yeah, Maroon's response changed my view on this. Edwards is a terrible announcer and this makes him worse. It's easy to say that we're being soft, but we're not getting ridiculed in front of hundreds of thousands of people.
 
I can't believe people are saying Jack sounds like he's drunk while he deals with aphasia...millions of Americans deal with cognitive fog and Alzheimers disease.

I do not stand for these ableist comments and I stand with Jack Edwards.

That's just assholes digging in so they can keep being assholes and/or defending other assholes. And people are more than free to be assholes. Just don't expect a warm welcome in society.

That's largely the crux of 'cancel culture' 'woke' whatever you want to call it. It's just people sick of dealing with assholes. Life is shitty enough without dipshits running their mouth all the time.

So because I used a term you don’t like that somehow disqualifies me from doing the same exact thing you yourself are doing? You suggested that I go hang out with Elon? Wtf is that all about, how is that different from me calling you a snowflake? You seem to be caught up in my vocabulary and missing out on the fact that everything you’re mad at me for saying, you yourself are saying on the opposite end of the argument. I’m really not trying to be hateful towards you, I just want you to understand that not everyone thinks the way you do, and that’s okay. Fwiw if I were in jacks shoes, I wouldn’t have chosen to go down the road he did, but I also don’t think it’s very egregious either! I don’t believe in ruining a person’s career and rep unless it’s warranted. This topic didn’t rise to the level of being warranted imo. If you feel differently then fine, so be it. But please spare me the holier than thou attitude about my expressions when you use the same type of expressions just on your side the spectrum. Basically I’ll asking you to stop being a hypocrite.

Chirping from athletes (current or ex) who actually had the skills and work ethic to play the game -- I'm OK with that.
Chirping from someone who's never done more than sit on his ass in the press box -- lame.

Interestingly though, the ex-player color commentators rarely go there. It's always the no-athlete PBP talking smack.

Cringe to listen to but pretty benign. That said even if only a minority of people would find offense, just do your job and call the game like a professional. That's asking quite a bit from Edwards.

Homer? You do realize he works for a Boston sports channel right. Just because Sportsnet picks up the NESN feed nationally in Canada doesn't mean Jack isn't still announcing this game to and for Bruins fans in the New England area. He doesn't really give a shit how Jonny Johnson the Leaf fan in Mississauga feels about him or if they think he's a "homer".
