Dubois is walking in a year.
1 year rental.
Would still be worth more than Anderson IMO. Montreal could gamble and wait a year and sign him for free but they risk Jets finding a team Dubois will resign with.

I do agree Jets in another pickle with another player that wants out.

In other words just run it back with the same core of losers and hope for a different result, again.

Its sad to say but I don't think I'll be catching too many Leaf games next year unless there is a substantial or multiple substantial moves made. This team doesn't have it, it was overdue last year to do something about it.
not at all. ROR and Accari for a full year change the dressing room culture and ROR will take over that dressing room and hold people accountable.

Swap out 2 D for better pieces

Sure you are running the so-called core 4 but let's not forget they won a round and should/could have won a 2nd round if not for BOB going all world. So does that mean CAR, BOS should blow it up losing to the Panthers?

JT is gone in 2 years so keep Willy, AM, and Marner but then that 11 mil plus cap increase will allow for a better middle lineup. Yeah sucks running the 4 back but just trading one for the sake of trading one won't guarantee success.

Remember FLA was one PIT point away form not making the playoff so that whole FLA-CGY trade narrative is really just BS as the Flames did better than the Panthers

For sure, what we need is a heartless, mentally soft player, that shows up when he feels like it. Hard pass.
Heartless? Dubois had 103 pim last year and routinely plays physical vs leafs and sometimes borderline dirty.

Not sure how you can have this opinion of Dubois but also be Marners #1 fan.

I'm not sure how Dubois makes sense for the Leafs based on the cap space and assets it would take. Not to say he wouldn't be a great addition but I think there are other holes and priorities for the Leafs. He's going to ask a lot on his next contract I think and we have a lot of issues with those lately.

I think adding more secondary/depth pieces instead of adding high salary players makes a lot more sense.

Why are so many posters excited about Dubois? Guy appears to have been a cancer in both the Peg and Columbus. Go to Habville so I can hate him even more.

why would ROR want to stay on this team other than a over payment????????

I cannot stress how much I :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart: this post.
I cannot stress how much I :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart: that you have no input on actual decisions for this team.

Because OOOF.

Haven't posted much lately, but wanted to say we will sincerely regret trading Mitch Marner. He pissed me off in the playoffs as well, but he's too good not to figure it out at some point.

Hold onto him and trade Willy if you HAVE to ship out on of the big boys.

No you don't Josh Anderson is highly over ratef.
Yes, I know all players on the Leafs are The Bestest Ever™ and all proposed trade returns are the worst players ever. Which is why I don't propose trades, I just agree with other people's proposals that I like so I don't have to deal with the strawmen.

Try taking that trade proposal up with the OP. Thanks.

I'm starting to believe that regardless of who the GM is, Shanny doesn't have the balls to do anything except run it back year after year.

Sorry Kelly, but players are what they are. After 7 years straight of playoff failures you gotta see that and move on.

Yzerman won his first cup in his 15th season. Countless other examples.

That's a really bad take.

I get it's all doom and gloom here still, and I'm not saying these guys shouldn't shoulder the blame. But shipping them out just for the sake of making a change is a very short sighted decision.

If we're getting back a Tkachuk caliber player? Sure.
That proposal you were drooling over? We do that and we deserve to be right back in the JFJ years. Keep these guys (assuming they don't get stupid with contract requests) and continue to build around them.

I live the the Red Wings' market and I know the team well. Your take is very shallow.

A defenceman I can see Treliving having interest in is Sanheim, especially with Philadelphia heading into a full out rebuild. He brings size, puck mobility, is a good skater, isn’t overly physical but blocks shots.

Philadelphia could very well be a destination to unload Muzzin’s contract.

To Toronto: Travis Sanheim
To Philadelphia: Jake Muzzin + Nick Robertson + 1st Round Draft Pick
Do we need to unload Muzzins contract if he doesnt play again?

Josh Anderson and Mitch Marner are not the same, not even close

Yep its core 4 fault to not overcome free goal allowed every game and needing to play a perfect defensive game everytime to allow less than 3 goal/game
yea its not the core 4's fault at all who take up 50% of the cap and who dont show up when they are needed the most.
