Dubois is another self centred softy so they can have him. Anderson's up and down, but at least he can bring a physical presence and has a bit of scoring touch.

I like Anderson but he is not getting you Dubois.

Leafs are not in bad shape if you can resign Accari and ROR to decent-value contracts. Your biggest need is a younger 2C who has some speed and tenacity/grit willing to mix it up. 4LW will be a grinder who will be able to score some goals but also mix it up.

The D core is where I would invest most of the money. Out would be Brodie, Holl.

doubt he'd be the focal point, but, he could be a demanded asset i.e. Nylander as the primary, and the other team hopes he develops into a top pair D and demands him in the deal.

We're adding around $1.5 million which is less than it will take to re-sign Sammy. We get 4 forwards and one solid G for three softies going out... Two of whom wanna break the bank after next year. With Muzzin very likely out and Murray's hit going bye bye we'll have pretty of space for a top notch winger and D man and to sign some scrubs.

So, you think we should give up Marner and Samsonov to get back Helly (a playoff choking goalie) and Anderson (basically a cap dump)
While, Montreal gets PLD and prospects back for their cap dump.
So, we give up the best player (by a wide margin) for a goalie who cant perform in the playoffs, and a Dump and get into even worse cap hell than we are now, and Montreal make out like bandits.
then its topped off with
Locker room cancer JT Miller (overpaid and extra long deal) for Nylander where he isnt even an on-ice upgrade, and a huge locker room downgrade

and the cherry on this insane sundae

I think LA will be looking to clear up some more cap space in order to potentially re-sign Korpisalo or go after one of the potential starting goaltenders apparently on the market (Hart or Hellebuyck). They also need to re-sign Vilardi or trade him.

I wonder what the cost would be for Vilardi. Or if they’re looking to clear some cap space what the cost would be for Iafallo…

there was the time (on ice) that he flipped out on the goalie, and a few similar incidents ...the in locker, were more rumors, but, based on the on-ice antics quite believable

Its sad to say but I don't think I'll be catching too many Leaf games next year unless there is a substantial or multiple substantial moves made. This team doesn't have it, it was overdue last year to do something about it.

Yep its core 4 fault to not overcome free goal allowed every game and needing to play a perfect defensive game everytime to allow less than 3 goal/game

I’m all for acquiring Dubois if he’d be willing to sign an extension here. But if I’m dealing Nylander for Dubois, there has to be a + next to Dubois not Nylander…

You can’t compare those trades. Dubois is nowhere near the same level as Tkachuk and he’s not as good as Nylander. Saying Dubois is more valuable is also very debatable (he’s quit on two organizations already) and very self opinionated. Just because Dubois is a little physical doesn’t mean he’s better than a 40 goal scorer who’s putting up PPG+ playing 4th option.

From Flames POV, if they can lock up Lindholm a duo of Lindholm-Nylander would be nice to move forward with. Huberdeau, Kadri, Mangiapane in the top 6 as well.
