I would be going nuts right now if I was an FSU fan not gonna lie.

Like I took it & understood it in 2016 as a Penn State fan & the committee has generally stuck to the same rational since then until today.

Some FSU fans going off on the NCAA being “liberal” and torching them for their use of tomahawk chops. Others claim that it’s an anti-Desantis thing. Why is it that today when you don’t get what you want you go off political and play the victim card? If FSU fans are ticked, go beat Georgia if you can. FSU beat Florida by nine; Florida lost to Georgia by twenty-three.

I think it’s simple, potential tv ratings played a big part in the decision(s). It’s not even tinfoil to say. ESPN is firmly in bed with the SEC now (Fox is with the Big Ten) & they weren’t leaving out of one of their teams either when business wise it made sense to do what they did.

Ohio State, but without the two receivers (and others)? I guess I'll take that.

I’d imagine. They could lose their RB Henderson as a potential opt out as well. On defense I’d imagine JTT could be the one to watch but I don’t think they really have that many other potential opt outs on that side of the ball.

McCord entered the transfer portal.

His dad is apparently one of those helicopter parents. They apparently met with Day & wanted assurance that McCord would be the starter next year which Day wouldn’t do. Day told them he wanted McCord to say but he would have to compete for the spot in an open competition & they very well could bring a QB in from the transfer market.

Lord knows it's a convenient excuse that I've heard time and time again for the last two years. At least Ohio State and Bama lost the option. Bobo doubled down and threw 50% Bowers and McConkey back out there despite the roster depth. Saban changed his entire defensive approach on the fly Saturday after seeing them both hobble all over the place.

That’s a noteworthy one. High quality IDL are like gold in college football.

Of all the names that enter, this might be the biggest one this cycle.

He's also been receiving death threats.

He apparently hasn’t officially entered yet. It sounds like it’s headed that way but he’s gonna meet with Elko & the new DL coach they hired last night before he makes an official decision to enter.
The dad sounds like a nightmare. He already had an interview completed with the 247 guys before he even entered the portal. I think this one will turn into an NIL grab as the determining factor.

@JojoTheWhale you were wondering about Georgia here a few days ago.

Syracuse is putting together a staff of elite recruiters under Brown. Not sure how it will work on the field but for a program like that this is probably the upside play to have a chance to break through some.

A bit late to comment on the playoffs, but there was always going to be some controversy when you have 4 playoff spots for 5 power conferences... and this doesn't account for outlier teams with strong seasons.

The reasons for dropping FSU are both reasonable and ridiculous, but I don't know how you could include them and not one of Texas or Alabama.

The demise of the PAC12 and the expanded playoff makes this moot going forward. It's bizarre that the last year of the 4 team playoff was the only one with a controversy of leaving out an undefeated power 5 team...

Clearly should have been ahead of both. Neither Texas nor Bama were juggernauts. They’re not even the best teams with one Loss. The only way you get to Texas and Bama in with FSU, Georgia, and Ohio St out is by applying different standards to different teams. We know this is what they did because FSU was still 5th. Either the injury knocks them way down or it doesn’t knock them down at all.

Or they just wanted to make a pile of money with a Michigan-Bama last time ever Harbaugh + controversy vs Saban matchup and didn’t care how they got there.

I think Georgia should have been in, but I know the committee wouldn't put them in over Alabama after the SEC championhip and they weren't putting in 2 1 loss SEC teams. Georgia's the best team in the country.

Texas is in because Travis is hurt. I bet Texas is the odd team out if Travis was healthy. I would have put FSU in, anyway, but they probably would have been fodder for Washington (or Michigan) without him.

I would have had Michigan vs Georgia and Washington vs FSU, but that's not a realistic scenario given the state of all of the teams.
