This is 100% a last minute NIL push and has nothing to do with Beck likely returning to school. Even if Beck didn't return, did he really think he was going to come in and start as a freshman over BVG or Bobo's love child, Gunner Stockton? Both those guys have 2+ years in the program and that ain't Kirby's MO.

Either way, this is the stuff that's going to drive coaches out of the game. You literally have to recruit kids for years.

Nebraska is apparently going to land Kyle McCord as well.

I can't express what an upgrade pedestrian QB play would be for Nebraska. They win 7-8 Games with that this year.

I don’t think McCord is great. I think (myself included) has been grading him on a scale of what Ohio State has generally had at QB before him which was three straight first round picks. He probably still is above average by a general measure.

Speaking of Ohio State it sounds like they might be just rolling with what they have currently in their room for next year (add in their 5* incoming freshmen to that as well). They apparently tried to take a run at Riley Leonard but he seemingly wasn’t interested in them. It doesn’t sound like Cam Ward is happening either.

I didn't think far enough ahead that, even had McCord stayed, this year and next year were going to be lean years for the Buckeyes. More so next year because they'll be pretty thin at WE/RB with Harrison and Henderson on the way out.

McCord wasn't great, but he was better than the alternative in Brown. Brown's action was limited, but he looked very unsure of himself.

The judge ruled in favor of the TRO. There is now no way to enforce 2nd time transfer rules.

It is impossible to screw every aspect of this up more than the NCAA has managed. It’s optimized f***ery.

Tuten needs to stay at VT. He runs kinda angry and is very smart about how he picks and times his path. I watch him and think "He's fun, but at his size/build he can never exist in the NFL" but then I remember that Pacheco does exist and Tuten could follow that example. Those two remind me of each other.

I don't see how this whole thing doesn't come crashing down at some point. The NCAA may be the most inept governing body in sports, and that's saying something because the PGA still exists.

I don't even care about the transfer portal stuff. That's just part of the game now. I can't get my head around the blatant tampering going on that leads to transfers in a lot of cases and the NCAA pretending it doesn't exist.

Jalen Warren is 5’8”, 215 and leads the league in YPC. Undrafted. Size isn’t everything. If he can play who cares.

Apparently some NIL collective’s around the country are begging for some type of uniformed regulation at this point because they’re failing to make all these payments to players.

It’s kind of stupid that anyone with a functioning brain knows where the college football is headed. We know it’s headed towards a downsized pro model league setup with uniformed rules & everything. The charade is over, college football isn’t the same as women’s volleyball. We need to stop acting like they’re the same & the rules/setup make the same sense for both. But we’re like straggling the line seemingly waiting for this decision to make itself.

I get some people hate the way college football is headed & I don’t necessarily disagree but the reality is there’s no headed back from what’s to come & delaying things while still being pulled in both directions isn’t a solution either.

Intrigued how Syracuse does next year.

It was an aggressive move with hiring a position coach in Fran Brown but you knew him & the staff he brought in would at least elevate the type of talent(s) that Syracuse is used to bringing in.
