Think for the most part it takes a few days until we see anyone of note signing with another teamThis is pretty odd that no one signed, right?
May see some movement today. Unlike NBA, NHL seems to generally respect the whole "no negotiating until.." rulesThis is pretty odd that no one signed, right?

Not that unusual, there's probably only a few guys who'll end up signing. Since it's the middle of August, there isn't a ton of urgency to sign as quick as possible. Chase Priskie signed within 24 hours of becoming a free agent in 2019, but Carolina had tried to acquire his rights beforehand so there might have been some backdoor communication.
In recent memory, guys like Jimmy Vesey (signed August 19th), Kevin Hayes (August 20th), and Will Butcher (August 27th) took their time and spoke with several teams. Butcher in particular physically flew to visit and tour team facilities. If I recall correctly, Vesey's agent set up camp and teams flew in to pitch to them.
CapFriendly had an update of several additional names (plus some players who didn't become UFA):

No, same with many guys who have finished 4 years and are getting the extra year from Covid.Doesn’t Janicke remain on the Ducks reserve list until next year since he went back to school?
So then why is Perbix still on ours? No, same with many guys who have finished 4 years and are getting the extra year from Covid.
Luke Loheit was the same.
Likely because he meet's the threshold for not being within a graduating classSo then why is Perbix still on ours?

Alright, somebody will have to explain this one to me
Tychonick played 5 years of college and went pro at the end of last year
Why is Ottawa retaining his rights?
So like, he turned pro early without the team that drafted him, so Ottawa gets to retain his rights longer? Like a defected player..?I'm suspecting it's because he signed a contract covering the 2023-24 AHL season before his draft rights expired yesterday.
Still don't get why this wouldn't apply to Perbix as well then since he only has 1 less GP over his NCAA career than Janicke and is 3 months older. The NHL appears to have taken the position that Janicke spent four years in college and has "graduated" per CBA 8.6(c), thus his draft rights expire even though the NCAA has granted him a 5th year of eligibility.
Curious as to who signs Jay O Brien.

The only name on your list that is not on CapFriendly is Harrison Blaisdell. Is he a UFA or it's a mistake on the list ?
CF says August 15 2024 nowHis draft rights would be held indefinitely by OTT as a “defected player”.
