Leon needing to trade out of the draft and then use a first round to dump Kemba’s 8 million dollars, to then give Jalen Brunson at least 25 million a year, woof.
Pistons , Hornets, Hawks and Pacers gonna be better than the Knicks for years to come all set up waaaaaay better, f*cking depressing. Die hard Knicks fan since 90' don't know if I have the energy to keep doing it it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,What the fck is this organization doing
Just when I thought the Knicks were going to continue to build from within they start clearing space again for a star that probably doesn’t want to be here so they throw money at a mediocre player. Always chasing other teams players.
Here are the conditions on the 3 first rounders the Knicks wound up with.
2023 first round draft pick from Detroit
Detroit's 1st round pick to New York (via Houston to Oklahoma City) protected for selections 1-18 in 2023, 1-18 in 2024, 1-13 in 2025, 1-11 in 2026 and 1-9 in 2027; if Detroit has not conveyed a 1st round pick to New York by 2027, then Detroit will instead convey its 2027 2nd round pick to New York [Detroit-Houston, 11/24/2020; Houston-Oklahoma City, 7/30/2021; New York-Oklahoma City, 6/23/2022]
2023 first round draft pick from Washington
Washington's 1st round pick to New York (via Houston to Oklahoma City) protected for selections 1-14 in 2023, 1-12 in 2024, 1-10 in 2025 and 1-8 in 2026; if Washington has not conveyed a 1st round pick to New York by 2026, then Washington will instead convey its 2026 2nd round pick and 2027 2nd round pick to New York [Houston-Washington, 12/2/2020; Houston-Oklahoma City, 7/30/2021; New York-Oklahoma City, 6/23/2022]
2025 first round draft pick from Milwaukee protected for selections 1-4.
I mean a part of mean wonders if the Knicks are acquiring multiple firsts to go after a player like Donovan Mitchell. If the plan is Brunson and Mitchell I don’t know if it would work cap wise but that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
I have to say, I'm not exactly an NBA fan at this point, though I do follow it somewhat as a general sports fan--their trades are f***ing insane, and all the byzantine provisions of their cap and how their contracts work, you need to be some sort of f***ing wizard to understand it all.
