I was a high school kid at the time and knew nothing about anything outside the Canucks so I was just so stoked at lunch break about the simple act of acquiring new players. I legit thought that Noronen was going to be our future starter. I vividly remember complaining that Crawford wasn't starting him. That deadline was hilarious looking back. It only took until a few seasons later to realize the hilarity of Nonis' pro scouting and signings. Brad Isbister. Byron Ritchie. Bryan Smolinski (if I remember correctly this wasn't actually a bad acquisition for depth), Jan Bulis, Marc Chouinard, etc. etc. Brutal. None of them were in the league by just a few seasons later.
Do rights count? Craig Janney was a Canuck for a few days, the elite puck distributing center that we never had until ....Henrik??
Is that where he is now?? YikesChinese Hockey Superstar Hunter Shinkaruk
