Name a random Canuck

Christian Ruutu

Scored a goal from centre ice one time. Not related to the other Ruutu who would play for us later.
Christian actually spelled his name "Ruuttu" with an extra 'T', for what it's worth, so for people who remembered him it was clear at the time. That center-ice goal was in the 1995 playoffs against St. Louis, and I'm kind of surprised not to see it somewhere on Youtube.

Anyway, I'll go with Robert Nordmark.

On the topic of obscure Russians who played for the Canucks - Alexei Tezikov.

Mikko Jokela wore a mishmash of player equipment for his debut with the Canucks. I think he even wore gear that had belonged to Mark Messier.

Weird. I have zero memory of that happening in the playoffs. That would probably explain why I remember it though.

Before Eddie Lack, there was Troy Gamble.:sarcasm:

How about name a random ex-Canuck mod?:sarcasm:

Kirk Peterson.

The most forgettable player in history.

He managed to stay with the club for 51 games in 83-84, one of 8 defenders playing 40+ games on their injury-depleted and talent-starved blueline that year. Barely remember him.

Brent Peterson - veteran checking forward claimed off waivers from Scotty Bowman's Sabres, quickly became a favorite of D-first coach Tom Watt. When captain Stan Smyl fell to injury right before the 86 playoffs, Watt gave Peterson the C for our first round sweep by the Oilers. He gave a heroic effort and scored 2 out of the 5 goals the Canucks managed against the Oilers and was arguably our best player.

I haven’t looked at that hockey card for 30 years but I can tell you that the back of it tells you about a game where Schliebener scored with an assist from Gary Lupul and then Lupul scored with a assist from Schliebener.

Not trying to knock this post, but instead of just naming a random Canuck, have it or make one that says"Name That Canuck", so someone posts a photo of a player and people need to guess who it is, and once someone gets it right then a new photo is posted to guess again, and so on and so on. I've seen this on other sites before and it's actually kind of fun.

Patrick Coulombe! Was my favorite player for like a 10 game stretch hahah. Also Josh Green, who I will always remember because I saw him at West Edmonton Mall (in like 2006) and he was the first NHL player I'd ever seen in person lmao.

Other fun players with Canuck stints: Keith Carney, Brad Lukowich, Jesse Schultz, Richard Park.

Brandon Reid was my favourite player in NHL 04 (not 100% this is the right game though). He was so fast in that game.

My previous user name here was Darby Hendrickson. I chose that because we lost him to the expansion Wild and found it fitting with Vegas coming in.

Thinking Wade Brookbank for my next name.

I think it was the one with Naslund on the cover, NHL 2005.

Brandon Reid was a first line superstar by 2008 in GM mode. Couldn't keep up with HHOFer Mike Cammalleri, but still.

I'll harken back to the turn of the millennium, to the defensman who played the 2nd most games for the Canucks in his 2 seasons (2000-2002) in Vancouver.

I remember thinking his addition really solidified the teams blueline behind Ohlund and Jovo....

Scott Lachance....shared the same number with a few other Canucks greats in Burrows and Geoff Courtnall.
