Kredier's a funny one for me because he seems like he should have the physical attributes that make him stand out on every shift, even when he's not hitting the scoreboard.
In yesterday's game when it look like we were trying to take it up to the Bolts physically in the 1st it was forwards like Vesey, Names and even Mika who seemed to be doing most of the banging, and that's when you start thinking "where's Chris gone?" because you feel like he should be leading the charge.
He scoring is pace is fine, and he's consistently a guy who drives play; but in so many games you just want him to stand out a little bit more than he does.

It's almost as if players have ups and downs all season long.

I understand it's okay to criticize some players 59 times in a thread, while other names shall never have a negative word spoken, even when they disappear for weeks at a time.

On most teams, the best players don't go missing for long periods, but hockey is different here, right?

It's an indictment on our front office that Kreider is our elite player, not an indictment on Kreider.

Do I need to?

He's on pace for 38 goals...

Guess he'd pot 50 if he could figure out how to not disappear for weeks at a time.

I expect my best players to be among my best players on most evenings. I know I'm being unreasonable.

You are being unreaonsable. If he was that level of player, he would be.

Your expectations are the problem.

Kreider is far far far from the problem.

Of course he's not the problem. He's the one whose parts are worth more than the whole. He's one of their 3-4 best players anyway, but no one here can say honestly that his game is consistent.

He's tied for

th in scoring. He's having a great season?

Yeah, but Staal sucks.

Then what's the point of saying it multiple times in every single thread when everyone already knows it?

What's the point of bashing a player that is beaten up from abuse near the end of his career? If he wasn't trying, I would understand it. It's not his fault he's in the lineup. It's management's.

But if I complain that our "elite" player disappears too often, some take personal offense.

He's an elite play-driver, which is not the same thing.

I have always thought that analytics are supposed to be an indicator and predictor of quality and success. If all it is, is a predictor of shot totals, I'm confused about why it is so important.

Do you agree that he disappears more than any other Ranger?
