Holmstrom/Komarov/Hornqvist net front type player who doesn't shy away which is always good.
Strong stride and goes to the net....
get the breadman?Good value trade for the Kings. 3 good assets and took no salary back which is huge.
~14 million in cap space next year so any holes can be filled with a UFA.
3 picks in top 35 ish
Goal is to continue to shed salary and get more picks\prospects. Top end talent is still lacking, huge draft year for the Kings.
get the breadman?
plus I think he will want more than $10M.I know this sounds stupid, but I’d pass because he’s the wrong side of 25 to give a long term deal to in the new nhl.

Hagelin is 110% gone, maybe we'll get a 3rd.Muzzin turned himself into a pretty dang good player. IMO was having his strongest season yet and with only 1 more season under contract, it was the right time to deal him. He always appeared to be a standup guy and his teammates really liked him. I'll be rooting for him to continue his strong play.
Hopefully these kids Blake got work as hard as Muzzin and become solid NHL players.
Alright, who's next..
You'd rather be lied to? I'd personally prefer the truth over being fed inaccurate fluff just to feel better
Kings fans will hate you for saying this but its true. Its what I've been saying as well as scouts.
Kings won’t deal Martinez now. He is only one year older than Muzzin, scored one of the most important goals in Kings history, has more term than Muzzin and besides Doughty, the only real other top 4 d man left. Plus, his last name is Martinez in a City that has a large Hispanic population. His last name is on the back of a lot of jerseys.

Carter should go if Muzzin has already been dealt. I think we could get a 1st for him or a young forward with some upside.
Quick is a big question mark. Peterson is ready.. Campbell is solid and is young. Not sure the market on goalies.
Clifford and Lewis should stay with the team. They'll play as support roles for the young guys down the line.
It's more of the older guys playing lots of minutes that should be moved so the kids can step in and actually play more than 10min a night.
Oh and almost forgot about Martinez. He should also go but if we moved him our D would arguably be the worst in the NHL.

Most of the time, Doughty has played with a left handed defensive defenseman. Forbort is the only guy they have left like that. If the defense was deeper, maybe Muzzin keeps playing with Doughty all these years.
With the all-star break and bye week, it's likely Muzzin wasn't in town. They're all big boys getting paid millions. Can't imagine this was a surprise to him. He was probably counting down the days until it happened. It'll be alright.
And then what if he gets hurt? When you have a trade you like, do it. The Kings don't hold all the leverage in these equations. They're also desperate to get some kind of return on depreciating assets. Considering all the factors, the return on Muzzin may end up being the most they get for anyone on the roster that they can trade. Perfect world, they take it down to the last minute. 11 games is a lot of time to get hurt though, and had they waited and he gotten hurt, it's why didn't they trade him sooner. Maybe he gets a leg injury like Carter, and it takes him all year next year to get back his game, and they're selling really low.
It's tough enough to make trades in this hard cap league. If you wait, maybe a few other teams fall out of the race, a couple more defensemen become available, and now your supply has decreased in value.
Say if muzzin gets injured. It was a high package if you disect it. 2 second round pick prospects and a unconditional 1st round pick. I'd take that and run. Let's hope leafs now in a 5 game losing streak.
really depends on Durzi IMO. Sounds like the kings were big on him at the draft so who knows. I am not mad at this return but I am not thrilled either. If he gets injured, you move him in the offseason. He still has term. There was no urgency here from LA.
It's a mediocre package that may have gotten better the closer you get to deadline - especially if Carolina ends up moving one of their Dmen for high end talent, establishing the market
Forbort! They should move Forbort.
Forbort to TBL for Taylor Raddysh+3rd
My hot take of the day
A trade like what? Three B-level assets, at best?
There was no urgency to get this deal done, and as a result, they've lost out on potentially getting more. The closer you get to the deadline, the more desperate teams get - especially if Carolina move one of their Dmen for some high level scoring, establishing the market
