The year is 2030. The Rangers finally hire a good coach. Fox plays 25 minutes a game in the regular season and 34 minutes a game in the playoffs. He puts up 120 points, wins the Conn Smythe, and becomes unanimous Norris winner.

As Captain Adam Fox skates over to accept the Stanley Cup, somebody says "you know, he just hasn't looked the same since the injury" and then immediately posts a thread suggesting we trade for Josh Anderson to handle Aho.

If everyone is healthy, you can’t put these two back together. Bonino needs to go. Goodrow is wildly overpaid, but he’s perfectly fine with Vesey.

Here's an idea.

Throw Bonino in the Hudson, Goodrow joins the circus as the jawless man, and if anybody wants to bring up the PK, they get a hobby instead.

Sick of this shit.

The thing about the PK is that it's the first base of hockey.

It's not that it's not important -- first basemen handle the ball more than anyone. It's that it's easy.

Like with first base, good professional players can probably do it.

Will Cuylle. Sound defensively, hustles, can finish off a shorthanded chance. There's one right there.

PK specialists will eventually go the way of enforcers, in like the next 10 years.

Been fighting with guys on here for weeks who claim that Lindgren sucks as our 1 LD. Regardless what you think of him, he's not our 1LD. Miller and Trouba have played 5 more minutes of ES per game all year than Fox and Lindgren. The only reason Fox is up there with them is that he gets 1:30 every PP. Might be more pronounced since Fox returned from injury but it was trending that way early in the season too.

Practically everyone thinks Lindgren is not a 1LD and is having a bad year. Fighting who? It's an echo chamber in vigorous agreement.

Guys were claiming he was our 1LD. Regardless of whether he's horrible or not, that's not the point. The point is he doesn't get 1st pair minutes. Trouba/Miller do.

Lafreniere was great in that game.

Sometimes the chances just don't fall for you. Beyond that, he made a play on a goal without getting an assist.

It's frustrating but I'm never going to beat a guy up for missing chances when so many guys don't even get chances.

Time to get serious with the lines while we wait for KK/Fil

Ck-Mika-Vesey
Panarin-Tro-Laf
Cuylle-Goodrow-Miller
Brodz/Pitlik-Bonino-Wheeler (don't really care, this line should see SFA time)

Play Jones or find another D man..

Well if we're going to get kinky and move a D to forward, it absolutely should be Trouba so he's not playing D.

We seriously went from a coach that changed lines everytime he popped a new piece of gum to a coach that hasn’t changed lines since the civil war.

For the love of all things holy, if I’m forced to watch Mika and Kreider at 5v5 please take Wheeler off that line, I can’t watch that disaster anymore.

Until Fox can move you'll be getting more of that duo. He, in a literal sense, can barely move out there. This game was jarring.

And uncomfortable truth time, Trouba/miller look terrible because the team is playing Gallant style hockey the last 20 games and no one looks good doing that. They were lot better the first 20 games when they were playing standard NHL level defense and neutral zone coverage and effort.

They stopped with all that work and ickyness and are back to gently orbiting people for defense and using body odor to cause turnovers.

They would be the best line in the NHL with Vesey.

He does everything they're not good at.

Wheeler never did even if he wasn't washed up.

I just came back from drinking a bunch of mezcal and sampling tacos to say no to bringing ties back.

I watch sports for a winner and a lobster.

EDIT - a winner and a loser

EDIT 2 - lol
Yeah, well you didn't get a winner or a loser tonight, you got a tie.

3v3 until somebody wins, please.
