Haters are going to hate, there's no making some people happy. Max scores goals, that's his 'thing' , stop hoping he becomes something else. JD will help Max's game a lot, and take pressure from being the only friggen guy who can score on the forward lines.

I'm far from a hater. I see Pacioretty for what he is and don't make up qualities he doesn't possess in order to make him look better than he is.

Calling a guy nicknamed Casperetty invisible on most nights is only fitting. If he can go back to driving the net the way he did on a line with Erik Cole back in 2012, then I might change my opinion. Until then, he's a perimeter player with a great shot.

That's all he will ever be, so why fight it? We can pick apart every player on this team, from Price downwards, and announce their flaws.

So I'm a hater for describing a player the way he is... And you happen to agree with said description?

I don't follow here.

The reason we're discussing Pacioretty and his limitations is because a poster brought up an argument in his favor that didn't make much sense to me, hence the current discussion. Either look up why we're discussing Pacioretty in the first place or don't bother quoting me calling me a hater.

Drouin has always been more of a playmaker than scorer (similar to Radulov).

Would be nice having two lines with 1 scorer + 1 creative playmaker who can handle the puck:

Pacioretty + Radulov
Drouin + Galchenyuk

The 3rd member on the lines just needs to be good at retrieving the puck along boards, keep up offensively, and be good defensively. Two solid lines to somewhat keep up with the offensive powerhouses in East.

I look at this way. Drouin was developed by another program. I'd rather see the 5 footer play on the team than Sergachev tortured by our development program. Good trade.

Subban was fortunate to get to play under Guy Boucher. Sergachev would have bypassed Lefebvre by going straight to Julien either this year or the next.

No you are a hater for 'hating' Max for what he is, which is a very good goal scorer. Kicking him in the balls for scoring 35, but not doing it to your liking, or your style.. is hilarious. He gets the same hate as Kessel and it is amusing to watch people ******** on him.

I agree 100%

Sounds like Danault, Gallagher, Lehkonen

Drouin with Galchenyuk is something to look forward to. 2 young potential 60+ point players that can score 30.

Geez. You are a baby with the name calling.

I guess if you don't love a guy 100% it makes you a hater if you think a player is not perfect.

My take on Radulov: He is a hard working player.. but sometimes he tends to stay on the ice too long. There you go. I'm a hater!

Actually, it doesn't say much, no.
That's a 20g pace.

It's almost as if Pacioretty is a narcissist who only scores against bad teams with bad défenses and cannot bring himself to try harder to score against good teams. Look at how he cheers - always subdued, he wants to project an image of professionalism but in fact is rarely consistent or actually useful against good teams.

I don't see how Drouin, soft perimeter player with attitude issues, will help him.

The more I think about the trade, the more I think Drouin wasn't a priority. I'm glad we have a top6 player but he's what, a 60 point LW? Meh. I'd prefer a 60 point C.

I was reading some posts earlier and what do you know someone brought up DD in a Drouin thread.

Cant argue with that.

I cant stand the guys who over use the word "hater" There...I'm a hater too.

I put very little value in players who consistently under preform during play offs when it matters most. Woops....im a hater again. Damn.

peace, love, flowers........"why keep score"

Soft and perimeter?? I guess you failed to watch the bolts playoff run in his rookie year!!

I didn't watch that run, no.

But he was on an up-tempo team that opened up tons of space for him. The Habs don't have the players or system for that, I don't expect to see Drouin have space - and I don't expect to see Drouin make space with his slender frame.

So you're insinuating that Tampa played a system that gave him space, therefore other players created it for him, but he had no part in it?

You're just trying to find a way to hate the move, which is your MO, but failing miserably at it.

I approved of the move. It was a good trade in a vacuum. The fact that nothing else was done since then is worrisome though. And his contract was hasty.. but still, good trade.

Read my post again, I didn't insinuate that Drouin didn't earn anything - but that his style of game will change with the Habs. He's he go-to guy now, with more attention and coverage, in Tampa he was one of FIVE great forwards, one of which was the best goal scorer in the league.

As for hating, you want to trade Chucky, who is as good as Drouin, for a bag of pucks. Maybe you're the one who needs to change their MO - I just want a team to win a cup. You win with talent, you win with the right kind of roster. Drouin, good as he is, isn't going to mask all the flaws of our roster. You can't win with Markov as #1B and Danault as the first like C, Drouin or not.
