Playing in a players head like we did with Chuck is stupid. Drouin is a winger and thats what he is.

Going the lazy way for the 1C is probably the way Berg will go though... Because...
 
Now BGL saying there are some serious off ice issues about Sergachev that made it easier for the Habs to deal him. And apparently these issues are known by several individuals. Again, FWIW.
 
If Drouin is going to be tried out at center, that's fine. He can put in some time next season at the 2C spot. But relying on this winger to be the saviour 1C that we need?

That absolutely cannot be a course of action. A top line center must be aqcuired.
 
Love the Drouin trade. However, and its a big however, this trade means the habs have to sign Radulov.

if not... we basically got drouin to replace Radu and lost Sergachev in the process.

Can we sign Joe Thornton already and get rid of plek and Emelin?

Interesting interview with Georges Laracque on CKAC. He said that Sergachev has somes serious outside the ice issues and said he's not surprised to see him traded because of that.

He also said that Habs have another deal Under construction and could be finalized today or tomorrow.

Seriously can we stop with this nonsense? The Drouin-Sergachev trade has NOTHING to do with Radulov.

I hate when the media starts reporting this **** after a guy is traded. Its such a ******** narrative.

Looks like this was not about settling the team's center issues, but rather an opportunity too good to pass up to add offence. Of course, it could be negated by losing Radulov and/or depending on what they sell Galchenyuk for.

It's too early in the process since many sources are reporting that other moves are coming. Let's see the whole picture before we judge. Drouin is a great start.

From what I read, Thornton what to stay with SJ and it's likely to append.... Expansion year, that why there almost no UFA signing by their team... Wait to see the number a signed the last week of June!

(same with Sam Gagner)

Only center available in UFA that fit the role : Hanzal, Marleau (who I think is playing wing more now, and is slowing down big time, and say in the past that he don't want to play in Canada...)

Plekky won't disappear easily... cap hit is hard (2-3 m to much for a 3th line center soon to be UFA). Emelin maybe.

Reports of ice-problems coming out as soon as the player is traded. If you have something to say, just say it. Late for curfews, disrespectful to coaches, drinking, too much partying, not in shape, not a good teammate, or whatever off ice issues entail. To just throw a random accusation is kind of... dirty.

Habs still have plenty of capspace.
Drouin's signing has no effect on signing Radulov. Bergevin said it himself.

Wasn't he one of the first to talk about PK being traded last year and also about the Max/PK rift?

I am starting to think BGL at least has some very good sources in HABSland.

Yep, I think he was one of the first who started the PK traded bandwagon.

He had some scoops at the TDL also if I recall correctly.

Yesterday he said something big is brewing and we landed Drouin...
