Very good ahl team? You have no idea what the heck your talking about. Oh yeah, you didn't watch wallstedt.
Iowa Wild finished with a 34-27 record, indicating they were a good team. He posted similar stats on a better team than Primeau did in Laval.
And Habs fans don't think Primeau is NHL material.
Watching him means nothing. Until he proves he's a NHL #1G he isn't worth a 1st rd pick, a young #1C or a #1C. And even then, when was the last time a team traded such a prospect for a goalie?
Wild can keep him, and we'l snag him when he asks for a trade because he's tired of playing 2nd string to Gustafsson.

If I were the Habs I'd look at drafting Bjarnsson or Augustine. Both look like they'll be legit

Jakub Dobes seems a like a legit future NHLer still a couple years away, great for the rebuild timezone.
Primeau just not there yet and might never will be.

What about Spencer Knight ?

Maybe draft Adam Gajan or Carson Bjarnason this year ?

Lol the wallstedt wild traded up in 1st round to snag a year ago? Delusional much? Iowa was bad , ahl team which is why coach was fired. Montreal fans like yourself don't know facts and are delusional

Team was soo bad they finished with a .600+ record!
Facts are there... 2.7 Gaa, .908 save % on a 600+ team, he wasn't dominating the AHL... And you're asking for a topC? Good luck

What was their record? They are a good team, no matter how you try and spin it.
Youre the laughable guu if you think a G that hasn't accomplished anything is worth a topC prospect when the last goalie traded for a top pick just came out of a Vezina.trpphy calibre year in the NHL.
Keep him Habs don't need him anyways. We'll.likely draft 2 much better and.more valuable player this year than him and pick a goalie just as good in the 2nd rd

Near Montreal
Some things are sure for Montreal :

-Hughes won't likely overpay for anyone, since he never did yet ;
-Habs won't contend short time, no rush for next year ;
-We can surely add depth to the goalies' pool, and we have many picks ;

Most plausible thing is that we will draft one or two goalies this year and see where it goes.

What does the coach have to do with the goalies stats? Fact is he had very average stats on a team that finished top10-15 in the AHL.

Fact the coach was kicked out has nothing to do with it. He isn't worth a top C prospect, no G in the NHL is worth a top C prospect unless they are called Vasilevskyi or Shesterskin.

You'd be lucky to get a potential top 6 center for him because goalie have no value.

We'll give you Kahkonen for a 4th.

Has the size and the capability and he's young, just needs a coach that can get the most out of him. We don't have that here.

A goalie drafted in 2023 isn't going to be ready when the team starts competing, but if a good one is available definitely draft them.

Perhaps but that's hardly a given.
Indeed.

But young keepers like Askarov, Schmid, Wallstedt, etc. wont want to stay on the shadows for to long and get paid at soke point bu their teams who already have young #1 G.

And it won't cost the Habs a 1st rd pick to get them.

Lol dude teams don't sell low on players and players don't have any rights after their elc expires. So wrong

They always have rights. They can sign a 1 year deal and make themselves eligible to offer sheets. They have more rights than you think. They don't have to stay back ips until they are 25 and miss on millions of $ more
