So MacKinnon for Fowler is fair?

Klefbom for Duchene?

I cringe every time a fellow Oiler fan brings up Pouliot to ANA. I think there's some truth to it but I'm sure it wasn't for Fowler or Vatanen.

MacKinnon is a better player by quit a bit then RNH and doesn't break as much. No, MacKinnon for Fowler isn't fair.

what scares me is his contract ask

only good thing is he plays 20+ minutes a night

6x8 ish is fair, consider what yandle got and shattenkirk will get that contract as well. Not many of these guys in the league and points are the most expensive thing to pay for.

I would do Tanev + Burrows + Gaunce/Granlund (last year of the contract) for Barrie

Edler - Barrie
Hutton - Gudbranson
Tryamkin - Larsen

o lawd thats beautiful.

Burrows is horrible and makes $4.5M, no thanks.

Tanev would be a perfect trade for colorado 2bh.

Barrie is not staying in colorado, Tanev is a 1b / 2a d-man, who plays 20+ min a night, and does literally everything for the canucks.

Barrie would be our PP guy.

Makes perfect sense

Barrie deserves to get paid and the Avs are better off keeping him.

But you are terrible at it. Barrie is by far the better player if compaired to RNH. You think Edmonton should pay Draisaitl 6 million for his nest contract to be a 3rd line center your dreaming.
Draisaitl can easily slide to the RW and be a 6M top line RW. Out goes your theory and the gun to Oilers head.
read the last line of what you quoted.

If colorado offering Tanev for Barrie don't think the Oilers are getting him haha. That's a good offer. Would they really do that though..?

They would trade tanev in the deal, canucks have zero PP QB d-men, except maybe larrson

I doubt VAN would do that. Overall, I think Tanev is the better player. In any event, that doesn't help COL. They need a LHD.

so why would the Canucks give up a better d-man in Tanev in order to get Barrie?

I really like Barrie and I think he's very good - but he's not by far the better player compared to RNH. RNH is good man. The difference is Colorado is looking to trade Barrie and Edmonton isn't looking to trade RNH. Yes I believe PC wants to keep 3 centers - that's OP in the NHL.

Sakic said point blank that if they can't sign Barrie to a long term deal then they'll go to arb. I think you've got it backwards, teams are asking about Barrie and Sakic is listening but everything that's been reported doesn't make it sound like Barrie is being shopped.

Yeah I don't really understand this either. If I was the canucks I'd rather have Tanev at 4.45M than Barrie at 5.5-6+ that he is inevitably going to get. I don't think Edler is good enough defensively to cover the Tanev hole and while Barrie's added offence for them might be enticing I'm not sure it makes them a better team.

not what I asked. The idea would be to flip a D (Vatanen or Barrie) to the Oilers afterwards.

Why would we help a divisional rival? Not to mention you don't have anything we need i.e. a high-end LH LW (not Pouliot, not interested in Yakupov).

and I'm sure Tyson Barrie loves the fact he's going to arbitration...relationships never sour due to that :sarcasm:
