With offers like this, I think it might be a while.

This is a lot closer to reality than what many COL fans have been dreaming about here.

my proposed 3 way based on this:

To COL: Fowler + EDM 1st
To ANA: Pouliot + Yakupov
To EDM: Barrie

EDM gives up Pouliot+Yak+1st for Barrie
COL gets Fowler+EDM 1st for Barrie
ANA gets Pouliot+Yak for Fowler.

Guess the offer is not THAT bad if you believe the Oils will finish bottom 5 again...

We wont. We will draft 10-14th as it stands now.

Pul , Yak and a 1st is as high as I would go. That seems reasonable.

Sure its not Draisaitl, Klefbom Nurse 3first rounders AND a set of steak knives like the Avs want, but hey its the next best thing.

What would a 3 way with the Ducks even look like?

:edmonton

D Tyson Barrie
C John Mitchell

:ducks

C Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
D Mark Fayne

:avs

D Cam Fowler
LW Andrew Cogliano

The general framework that was being laid out by Bob Stauffer was the Oilers 1st rd pick + Benoit Pouliot for Cam Fowler and then Cam Fowler + something else is traded to the Avs for Barrie's rights. Just reading between the lines I'd guess Yak would be the piece we'd like to add, but the Avs want something more substantial.

The Ducks were interested in Benoit Pouliot before and he apparently would of been traded there at the deadline if he wasn't injured, I'm not sure if we would retain on Pouliot for the Ducks, but him with retention I'd guess would be much more enticing.

I believe that RNH, Nurse and Edmonton's first round pick is fair value for Barrie.

It's fair, but I think the Avs would prefer Leon instead.

Leon + Yak for Barrie + Mitchell + pick/prospect
 Give me a break

Then you follow up with a proposal that probably is fair lol You won't like the cost of that pick though.

Don't care much for Mitchell but then again I don't care much for Yakupov

i feel like anaheim should get the pick and colorado get fowler. they can cap dump iginla too. fowler and barrie value that far off? fowler sucks or something? honest question.

As an Avs fan, I'd drive Barrie to the airport myself. All 3 of those assets is an overpayment.

I do think it Would take 2/3 of those assets though. And I'm not sure Nurse + 1st gets it done either.

Edmonton wants a RHD so they will have to overpay a bit. Colorado will like to get a d-man back for Barrie. RNH is expendable because the Oilers have Draisaitl and don't need him on a 3rd line. That gives him a chance to move up. If Oilers get this trade and with what they have done since June they will make the playoffs I belive which is their intentions. Maybe a 2nd round pick back from Colorado would fit in too I guess. As a fan of hockey I think It is a good offer and would be great for both teams.

supply and demand I guess..

ANA needs to move out Fowler to sign Lindholm and they also need to sign about 3 more NHL forwards.
Barrie and Fowler may be close quality wise but Barrie has a lot more demand ..EDM 1st would get them that key add to pull the trigger.

ANA fans would certainly want sexier players for Fowler. Pouliot doesnt really have that much appeal but would actually be very effective on ANA's top line.

Just take iginla as a cap dump?

I'm not a fan of either team, but that's a pretty solid 3 way. Well done!

I'd maybe add oilers giving a 2nd to the Aves or something like that because I think their giving up the 2 best players , but they get 3 solid pieces back.

1st round pick is a lot of value though, wasn't it rumoured they wanted the 8th or 9th pick for him? This is edmonton's pick we talking about :)

Agree that Barrie is the rarer player being RHD, but I think a lot would still be interested in fowler, not every team is so heavily biased towards rhd like the oilers. Colorado is also looking to trade him same as Fowler, I don't see that making any difference personally. Either way its close and these deals make sense from GM perspective considering the circumstances, hopefully they can get it to work

I've found the guy who watches him twice per year.

Intelligent, non speculative and unbiased post.

10/10 would read again

Barrie's a great defenseman, he's not worth RNH, Nurse and a likely lottery pick.

COL is hurting for D so they have to overpay a bit. Duchene is expendable because the Avs have Mackinnon and Soderberg and dont need him on the 3rd liner.
Trade Duchene+1st to ANA for Fowler since you apparently have to overpay.
maybe get a 2nd rd pick back.
As a fan of sarcasm it is a good offer and should help both clubs.

Anaheim gets bent over in that garbage rumor. Pouliot for Fowler is an absolute joke.

There aren't a lot of LHDs available either.

no doubt about that, but pouliot + 1st + maybe something else like yak or whatever? Can't say that's too far off is it, was anaheim not looking for 8th-9th pick as a return for him at draft?
