He said it was appropriate response. He never said it was a clean response. People are arguing 2 different things.

At the end of the day, the Sens will still be looking forward to the draft lottery and the Leafs will still be looking forward to the playoffs. As everyone here says, let’s see what they do in the playoffs.

I wish we could schedule in another game with the 2 teams this season.
Its not an appropriate response. Square up. He's getting suspended. Even when Leafs try to do the right thing, they f*** it up and do it wrong.

I'm pretty sure I saw a player stop the puck on the goal line, and then gently tap it in, and he also got attacked by the other team.
I’ve also seen a receiver running to get a touchdown, then stop at the 1 yard line, and wait til a defensive back gets a few yards away, then step over the line.

No. Take your own advice. From the article you posted ffs

Perron forked over just under $150,000 as a result of his suspension. The league had never previously suspended him in his career, but he received a $5,000 fine for cross-checking during the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Hitting Kadri is not an offence

Haven’t read this thread but is there anyone that thinks what Reilly did was ok? Because it wasn’t.

Would it kill you to do some research?

So I guess this just never happened in your alternative reality?

Was it tweeted as a joke? I said Perron had been fined for crosschecking before. Where is the fake news?

My apologies.

I don’t count Kadri hits as an offence

I can't think of anyone that would have an issue if Reilly skated over and shoved Greig or face washed him, heck a slash to the shin pads a and challenge him to a fight if your that upset about it. Coming in hot with a high crosscheck, intentionally to the head or not, is just so wildly out of the realm of reasonable responses, and some of the hyperbole around how egregious the EN slapper was to justify rightly deserves to be ridiculed

Morgan Reilly was extra frustrated because he knows he’s playing for a go nowhere franchise and his dreams will never come true -

Whether you count it or not doesn’t mean it wasn’t an action that was supplementally disciplined by the league before.

He’s never been suspended prior but he was fined by the league for crosschecking recently.

Part of the problem I have with a lot of players today is they think they can do this kind of stuff to get under someones skin but then are completely unwilling to step up and back up their actions. I'm not necessarily saying it fits this instance but there was a time these types of players would actually have to fight and that just isn't a concern anymore.

lol and where was this chance to actually have to fight? Fight with the stick cross checking his head, like a light sabre stick duel?

Maybe he would have if Reilly tried? We don't really know since he only did what he did without any attempt to "man up".
Nah everything about his actions showed he wanted no part of fighting. Completely turned his back and skated away. It's the typical reaction in todays game anyway, just a change in the game I don't support. There was a time teams would enforce the rules themselves, hence the term enforcer.

That’s your opinion. Obviously Keefe had a different one and that’s okay.

Then why did he face supplemental discipline for it?
I think it's just a joke and not that he genuinely hates Kadri so much that anyone should be able to do anything to him. I would guess joke.

Its Dale Hunter and Pierre Turgeon allover again back then he got 21 games

Or is it this incident allover again?

Only difference here is Vesey didnt attend the Timmy Stutzle school of diving like his fellow Senators.

in all seriousness, I'll say it's 6 games. More aggressive than that ^^ but isn't in the Dale Hunter territory.

I guarantee Reilly got congratulated in the locker room
For what, once again not manning up for a square fight when something pisses them off?

This shows nothing other than how easy it is to rattle this butter soft group.
