Lucius had one heck of a game. Looks like his style of play will translate well to the NHL game. He knows how to get into open space in front of the net.
Lambert looked a bit disinterested in the defensive zone and didn’t create a whole lot of offense.
Eyssemont had a great game as well. He’s too good for the AHL but is he good enough for the NHL? I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing him on the 4th line with the Jets.
Yes, I can certainly see Eyssemont getting a call up this year. Harkins will be hard pressed to find his way back to the Jets with what we have brewing on the Moose.

That ending sucked! Hated losing that game, but Rockford does have some skilled players.

I listened to most of the game on the radio. Sounds like the Moose will have an exciting offensively oriented team this year. Chaz sounds like he created a lot of opportunities throughout the game!

Holm sounds like he is just as bad as last year. NOT. AN. NHL. GOALIE.

Right. I hope they start Salminen tomorrow.

My couple notes on the game

Lucius-Already made notes in the Lucius thread but will reiterate how excited I am to see him being able to play to his strength of being so comfortable in tight spaces around the net. Really excited to watch him and Lambert all year.

Lambert-He just didn't know what to do in the D zone, hopefully that will be cleaned up by November. At least one goal was his fault and I am not smart enough to know if another was directly his blown coverage as well. I wish his sharp angle shot was passed to the right of the slot, wouldn't have been a wide open shot by any means but I thought that was the play to make compared to his low percentage shot. He made a nice play near the end of the game that you just don't see at the AHL level very often. He threaded the puck from the top of the zone to the front of the net. Keep doing that and you will create genuine chances. And we all know about his skating, but man it is so aesthetically pleasing to watch him glide around the rink.

Chisholm-Couple really bad turnovers, but what was positive is he went stride for stride defending Lukas Reichel who was the best player on the ice today and besides Lambert probably the fastest.

Holm-He was good until he wasn't, he did get hung out to dry on a couple of those goals.

Torgersson-Out of anybody that played today he made the most of his limited opportunities. Would love to see him develop into a power forward just didn't see much on the forecheck or on the boards to make any conclusion on that side of his game.

Heinola-Ya he probably scored the game winning goal but really just not close to the dominant AHL Ville Heinola I have come to expect.

Bauer-Didn't watch him close enough today but did some things to earn my attention going forward.

Out -> Nicholas Jones + Wyatt Bongiovanni
In -> Dominic Toninato + Jansen Harkins

Free on AHL TV again today.

Lucius at center has been really solid. Stenlund at this level is very good. Lambert had a nice scoring chance out of the penalty box. Salminen is very positional solid

Rockford is a very good AHL team

Lukas Reichel is really good.

Harkins is getting more chances short-handed than Chicago is on the powerplay.

Refs have looked away on two blatant penalties on Chicago including a hit from behind.

Ya the trip was pretty easy a trip. Good couple of shifts there

Stenlund looks about the same as he did in preseason. Some flash but no brains. Likes to pass to players that are fully covered.

And there's the short-handed goal for Harkins. I've said it before but he has an amazing shot but could never get many opportunities to use it in the NHL.

Almost got another one on a breakaway.

Moose getting more chances short handed than they are when they're on the powerplay. Nothing looks especially smooth right now but they've got players who can capitalize on chaos.
