My couple notes on the game
Lucius-Already made notes in the Lucius thread but will reiterate how excited I am to see him being able to play to his strength of being so comfortable in tight spaces around the net. Really excited to watch him and Lambert all year.
Lambert-He just didn't know what to do in the D zone, hopefully that will be cleaned up by November. At least one goal was his fault and I am not smart enough to know if another was directly his blown coverage as well. I wish his sharp angle shot was passed to the right of the slot, wouldn't have been a wide open shot by any means but I thought that was the play to make compared to his low percentage shot. He made a nice play near the end of the game that you just don't see at the AHL level very often. He threaded the puck from the top of the zone to the front of the net. Keep doing that and you will create genuine chances. And we all know about his skating, but man it is so aesthetically pleasing to watch him glide around the rink.
Chisholm-Couple really bad turnovers, but what was positive is he went stride for stride defending Lukas Reichel who was the best player on the ice today and besides Lambert probably the fastest.
Holm-He was good until he wasn't, he did get hung out to dry on a couple of those goals.
Torgersson-Out of anybody that played today he made the most of his limited opportunities. Would love to see him develop into a power forward just didn't see much on the forecheck or on the boards to make any conclusion on that side of his game.
Heinola-Ya he probably scored the game winning goal but really just not close to the dominant AHL Ville Heinola I have come to expect.
Bauer-Didn't watch him close enough today but did some things to earn my attention going forward.
