What he wqs saying is it does not count against the Habs as a win because they didn't jump up to win it they stayed put.
It does count as a lottery win because they won.

If 3 other teams won, moved up and montreal stayed put, this wouldn't have counted as a win. But, they did "win" and it counts as a win.

Even if they get 2 x top 10 picks in one of the best draft in the past 20y, that could be huge. If they manage to grab another 1st, their rebuild would be dman impressive. With epic proportions!

I would say it would be amazing to watch but I bet the site would crash with all the crying and bitching about a fix.
would be delicious to read

If that happened:
1 - the NHL should just abandon the draft and
2 - I probably just become a fan of the Habs again (I was a fan in the 70's before Jets 1.0)

Imagine the offense!

Slavkovsky - Bedard - Dach
Dubois - Fantilli - Anderson
Dvorak - Suzuki - Caulfield

3 year window until entry level deals for Bedard and Fantilli forces trades.
by then cap will be up and habs are a bank

Bedard is either going to a Duck or Hawk. You heard it here first
this prediction is for the birds

And why is that>

exactly, a win now team that insists on protecting a pick in the top 5 or 10 might not get the now player they want.
he's a leafs fan, that's why. pressure is on for them to win a cup...i mean playoff series

Your team hasn’t won a series in nearly two decades lmfao
Okay and? Are you saying the team I cheer for completely negates my opinion or how poorly the Panthers are performing?

Weird angle to take. Literally on your side right now my guy but keep hatin like always.

Can they win both lotteries with the new rules?
Actually, I don't think so. They retained #1 last year so that counts as a win. You can only win 2x in a 5 year span. I assume the Florida pick - if it wins the lottery - counts as a Montreal win.

Anyone know for sure?

I predict the oilers collapse and will be a bottom 6 team by end of Jan. Then the fun begins for who can out tank who

So a less than 10% chance?
Don’t order your Montreal Bedard jersey yet.
The odds are cumulative. 5.0% plus 6.0% = 11.0%

25.5% 32 - Chicago
13.5% 31 - Anaheim
11.5% 30 - Columbus
9.5% 29 - San Jose

So right now they have as good of a chance of winning as cbj/sj, and a couple more losses and they'll be on Anaheims neck.

I wonder what Florida would be willing to part with to get their pick back? Knight? Would make sense from both sides I think.

I have faith that my Habs can increase their Bedard chances in the second half of the season.
Tougher hockey down the stretch dowsnt bose well for them.....thus working well in the Bedard sweepstakes.

Oh how the bar has been permanently lowered in Habtown.
M. Bergevin and G. Molsons legacy.

If a 1/20 ping pong ball representing the Florida pick hits then so be it, that's just how it is. Florida isn't gonna be a bottom 3 finisher.

The Panthers are good enough to turn it around might require them to make a coaching change at some point.
