They have great results against Edmonton when at home, but the popgun offense without 34 will be putting extra heavy weight on Stolarz. Can't wait!

Sit holmberg for the love of god, he is beyond useless

With Matthews out idk what to expect, I remember we beat them once without him in the Canadian division, but that was a while ago. Usually he is good for a goal a game against them

Gonna need a huge stolarz performance because it looks like the Edmonton duo has woken up

Will be interesting to see who sits with Domi a probable. Robertson again? Holmberg could probably use a rest. Dewer just got in.
Don't think Berube wants to mess with a winning lineup much, so I imagine he will keep it the same as Wednesday. That being said I do wish Holmberg would come out so Robertson could draw back in, or Reaves come out and both Holmberg and Robertson are in the lineup. Steeves had a good first game and deserves to stay in the lineup.

That bottom six is gross. Two fourth lines. And two bad ones at that.
The good news is that it looks so bad because we're missing 4 top 9 players from that lineup - Matthews, Domi, Jarnkrok and Patches

The bad news is even when we're healthy, our 3rd line probably stinks

Hope I can get this on a US feed, at least minimize some of the cringe of the 2024-25 Connor McDavid Festival of Fellatio Pt. 1.

Robertson with Robbie Earl numbers

I'm just guessing, but I doubt there is a Marlies player who wouldn't work hard to stay in the NHL if given the chance.

Obviously, working hard isn't a reason to keep a player in the line-up.

1000's of player who can fill the role of working hard and accomplishing nothing.

A player that has a limited toolbox better have tools that accomplish something.

He's not a player just coming out of junior, this is his 4th. year (opportunity) in the NHL.

Leash is getting shorter by the week.

I think this will be a special teams win for the Leafs. Florida loses and the Leafs move into first place in the Atlantic.

That would be nice ... but my expectation is Leafs blow them away by 6 goals, or lose by 6 goals, or win in overtime, or lose in overtime, or it is a close game or it is a blow out or there is a power outage and the game is rescheduled to late February.

The Leafs are not a team I would ever bet on or against.

There are some teams you probably could bet on the results, but the Leafs are not one of them.

Maybe next year, after a year of Berube hockey, I might feel differently.

Did anyone see the OT pass to Nurse for the winner OMG so pretty and very Marner. Kyper and the boys were talking about with not having 34 available currently who's going to slow McJeebuzz down?

It got me thinking about the night he and Naz went at it hammer and tongs! What an awesome display, it was one of Naz' best nights in the B&W, better than the first hattrick against NJ, who I think had Hanlon(?) In net, better than the handful of Jumbos crazy public pubic facial display, if only Naz was a couple of years younger or Calgary would hold 20% of the contract or find somebody who will. I know Calgary wants to cut salary but still need a guy to fill some of the void,, Jarnkrok or Kampf might fit the bill?

Too bad AM will be out, but we've beaten Edmonton without him in the lineup before. Just get it done.

Domi has taken multiple maintenance days now. Definitely playing hurt as he's looked pretty off with his timing
Berube should pull an old trick out of the bag and have Domi shadow him in man coverage, kind of like when Punch had Keon go over the boards anytime Beliveau or Delvecchio, Mikita. Bucyk or Ratelle did, no matter who's line was on the ice.

Maybe with Domis speed and agility he can throw a blanket over McJeebuzz at least 75% of the time and keep him distracted 100% of the time.
