IF they are keeping him, I hope that Andujar has been taking reps at 1st this winter.

Also, how many Brawls do the Astros get involved in this year? I hope Altuve gets smushed and Judge hits Verlander with the Razor's Edge.

Their first trip to the Stadium is going to be must see TV. Bregman deserves to get drilled.

I'd be lying if I didn't say there was some temptation on my part to get Marte but when I sobered up, I realized it would have been a dumb move as Marte despite the "name" is not the player he used to be and we would have had to give up too much to get him.

So yeah the Dbacks saved our asses. Now that we pretty much are done heading into pitchers and catchers reporting in a week or so, I'm starting to get a bit pumped up for the season. Tho the division is pretty damn evil, if things with our bullpen go well...ie Diaz,Familia coming back from last years horror show and Betances staying healthy, it's not crazy to think we could contend for a WC....we'll see soon enough!

He's the same guy he's always been. He just had a great year. 23 HR 25 SB .342 OBP 3.0 WAR in 132 games. Just doesn't make sense to add him. The team is already full of OF with Nimmo/Conforto/McNeil or Davis whichever is in the OF. None as good as him defensively or as fast but all with great bats and younger.

See the Mets finishing in 4th in that division.

Braves and Nats are still the class of the division. Going to be really tough for the Mets to break through.

They pretty easily could have been right there with Washington last year with a bullpen that wasn't a tire fire.

Fair point, but I guess mine was less that "they were just as good as Washington" and more "they should have been better than 86 wins." I think Atlanta is the frontrunner in the the division and the other three teams could realistically end up arranged any number of ways.

I think the 3 of us are in reasonably the same ballpark tho I do think us finishing closer to WC than 4th place is more likely.

If we take Atlanta out of the picture as they should win the division fairly comfy and just compare us, the Phillies and Nationals an argument can be justifiably be made that either of the 3 teams could finish as a WC team.

If you really want to go down and deep, all three teams have question marks that could make or break their seasons.

How does Washington replace the bat or the glove of Rendon?Assdrip Cabrera? Howie Kendrick? Starling Castro? I dunno but that's a pretty big void to fill and can those three pull it off? Thank the good lord that Josh Donaldson turned down the Nats to go play in Minny as that would have blown chunks for us.

How good really is Philly's SP pitching even with addition of Wheeler cause after him and Nola, they are pretty shaky?

How good is the Mets bullpen now that they have Betances and can Diaz and Familia turn back the clock to 2018?

Bottom line, the Mets have to figure out a way to get 90-92 wins and if they can do that, well it's going to be another fun summer at the very least and that just might be good enough to get one of those two WC's.

I be feeling quite the bit optimistic heading into ST but than again isn't everybody? Well on 2nd though maybe not Tiger fans....lol
