Gambling odds aren’t projections.

NY and Philly teams are always overinflated bc they bring in bets anyway. They’re never offering long shot odds on our teams. They don’t need to.

Yankees are a global brand and will always get bets at short odds but who is betting on the mets to win the world Series at short odds other than Met fans?

Current WS odds per Circa (Fanduel)

Yanks +290 (375)
Dodgers +450 (550)
Astros +715 (600)
Braves +1100 (1200)
Twins +1600 (1800)
Phillies +2000 (1800)
A's +2100 (2600)
Reds +2200 (2800)
Rays +2400 (2200)
Mets/Nats +2500 (2000/1500)

Steve Cohen has always been shady and was involved in insider trading scandals. Sucks in the short term not to have that infusion of cash from Cohen, but I think the Mets may have a dodged a bullet by potentially avoiding another Wilpon/Madoff situation.

So here is what I’m being told right now. Wilpons want to murder Cohen. He evidently leaked this last night to someone (belief is someone he knows at Barstool, I’ve heard Paul LoDuca but can’t be confirmed). His hope was by giving them bad press they’d cave to his demands. Despite the media telling you this is over it’s not. It’s better than 50% this still goes through. Cohen seems to have read the Wilpons very well. They don’t like bad press and that’s what he sought to put out there in hopes they’d cave

It really sucks and so Met like to on one hand you finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and the Wilpons can finally be out of the picture. And on the other hand, the person eventually replacing the Wilpons is as shady a guy as you'd ever want to meet from what I've read about Cohen.

Dang...the Phillies and not us are the 6th choice...really?. Does Fanduel have some inside scoop that the Phillies #3 thru #5 SP's, Eflin, Arrieta and Velasquez are going to morph this year into Bobby Ojeda, Sid Fernandez and Rick Aguillera? lol

Seriously, their pitching still blows chunks even with the addition of Wheeler who I'd love to see how he's going to perform in that bandbox known as Citizens Bank. Me thinks Zack is going to find out pretty quickly how much he misses Citi Field.

I dunno man, I like their lineup but I don't love it. I actually like our lineup better than the Phillies and I certainly like our pitching better.

I dunno man...I think Phils are being very overrated here and Mets and Nats underrated...hmmm

the life of a mets fan...

I always thought the "gradually take control" part of the sale sounded strange and it's being reported that's the part Cohen has a problem with. What does Wilpon want, to sell the team but also retain control for several years? Why would Cohen agree to that?

rumor that the dodgers are willing to take david price and his 3 years $96 mil contract in the mookie betts deal

Imagine being the third most valuable team in the MLB, and dumping your best player because of salary. The Red Sox could 10000% afford Mookie and not have to worry about consequences.

Red Sox are dumb and this was dumb.

That being said...ya just hate to see it.

Hopefully the Yankees don't consider this when Judge is up for a new contract...
