Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

Ray Ferraro made a good observation about our players, especially Marner and Matthews at the Four nations.

He said he liked how they played a bit more direct and that at that level you don't really have the ability to slow the game down and everything needs to be fast and up the ice. The speed of the game is just way to fast and that time and space is taken away, you can't be messing around with the puck and need play less east/west.

Entertaining game in Florida. Both teams D just love giving the puck away in their own zone. I think Draisaitl yelled at Skinner while they were leaving the ice at the end of the game lol

Also, the Wings are frauds like last year. Got absolutely dusted by the Jackets tonight, and it should've been worse than a 5-2 score
 
Just as the Atlantic seemed like it was struggling, Tampa and Florida become juggernauts again

It'll be a race to the finish line for A1

I do not want a matchup against the Jackets. They're going to make it hell for whoever gets them in the first round. We also seem to struggle against them in general.

NYI beat Boston.... I'm mixed on this.... Happy Boston loses, not thrilled NYI can pretend not to be sellers yet.
TB beats Calgary... ugg.. two more points
Florida beats Edmonton... ugg, ahead of us in points, but played two more games.
Columbus beats Detroit... Columbus are scary man, I don't want to have to play them in the first round. Go Detroit, I'd rather play them. Columbus wins this game... ugg.
Montreal wins against.. perfect.. make a run for that 10th OA pick again.
Carolina beats Sabres.. That running punchline... the Sabres... Rantanen picks up two points.

Man that Bouchard can really shoot the puck.

He regularly tops 90 mph. Accurate too. Considering he's slightly crook eyed that's incredibly impressive.

I'd trade the entire farm and half the roster for him.

Apparently he wants $11M a season. The same as Marner makes currently. I don't think Bouchard is worth that much.

But I don't think Marner is worth his asking price either.

If you're gonna overpay one of them I'd prefer Bouchard. He'd fill a real need for this team. Marner is a good player but has been made redundant with the emergence of Nylander the last couple years.

I'll take the 1RHD with a booming point shot over the 1RW who floats wristers from the blue line every time.

EP at 11.6 for 11 goals and 35 points is a disaster first year.

And yet the Leafs will probably end up playing Detroit in the first round. That will be a quick series.

Do we really want Montreal to get a higher pick? Seems like they do better with the later ones (Slaf, Kotkaniemi vs Caufield and Hutson)😂
