So we are on same page afterall....go figure...lol.

Forget Panik replacing Frazier in the lineup, there is one guy I would take Frazier out of the lineup for tho and that would be Jed Lowrie...you remember him? lol

I owned Lowrie last year on my fantasy team and he was friggen en fuego. I admit I never thought he was going to be as good as he ended up being as I got him very late in my draft.

I also admit tho that when Brodie signed him, I was very excited about this pickup seeing Lowrie last year was basically Jeff McNeil before Jeff McNeil figured out how good he was this year. And if he can make it back to the ball club in early September...yes fingers are crossed, he can be that extra ingredient we need cause let's be honest, unlike Panik, Lowrie is a better hitter than the Todfather.

And so if it's me and Lowrie shows he's healthy when get back and show's he can rake, he and not Frazier starts at 3B as he would make our lineup that much more dangerous....just sayin.

lowrie was amazing last year...but never even sniffed those numbers prior to last year. combined with the fact that he hasn't played a real game in an eternity i'll be happy to get him on the bench as a depth player. not even thinking about him starting...

apparently cano is starting to run so we might get to compromise and soon frazier and panik will both sit lol

What a crazy night at the ballpark. The delays. The monsoon that hit mid game. It was raining in the concourse it was so windy. The fans were into it, even during the delay. JD Davis is becoming a Mets folk hero.

Thor was dominant, only the rain and lightning could stop him. I thought he could control those things?

Swept the hottest team in baseball since June that just split with the Yankees the series before. Indians maybe should be concerned about those "fringe playoff teams"

No help on the scoreboard tonight. All the teams ahead won. Have to stay red hot now. Atlanta coming in and need 2 of 3 before the biggest stretch of the season.

Woo hoo...Mets win 2-0 as they just called it and made it official.

This is huge sweeping the Indians. We are now proving we can beat the good teams as well as the crappy ones.

Noah was tremendous tonight and like Leetchie pointed out...Familia is back to being the Familia before some impostor took over his body around 2017. This point can't be overstated enough because if Famila truly has excorsized whatever demons took over his body, it makes up for Diaz and now our bullpen is playoff worthy going forward with Lugo officially our closer.

I dunno boyz...7 games over .500 now 1 game away from a WC spot with the Braves coming to town, I'm feeling more and more confident now that we can pull this off. And we have some of our walking wounded like Lowrie, Nimmo, Dom Smith and possibly even Cano about to join the team which will transform our bench from one of the worst benches in the majors just two weeks ago to potentially one of the best, I don't see this run we are on ending on anytime soon.

Before the Indians came to town I said, I'd not be pissed off so long as we went 5-4 on this home stand vs the Indians, Braves and Cubs. Well, it's time to reevaluate because at this point, I'd like to think we can now go 7-2 at worst 6-3 which would get us to possibly 9 games over .500.

Man this is simply off the hook the roll we are on. To think we were 11 games under .500 on July 24th and 21-5 ever since to where the team is now...phenomenal...just phenomenal.

If they are losing 2 games out of the next 6, or even 3, it needs to be against the Braves. They need to win the Cubs series. Braves are good and we need to beat good teams, but the Cubs series is 100 times more important to win.

No questions this is pretty much exactly the way we have to be looking at this. You'd have to think Mets will want to exact a bit of revenge on the Braves for sure from last week when they beat us 2 of 3 and other than Soroka, I'm not all that impressed with the Braves staff even with Foltynewicz back in the rotation.

And the Cubs pitching isn't all that great either. If you really look at it, we really should be able to win both these series. Pretty amazing but after our sweep vs the Indians, we now have won 11 of last 13 series....pretty damn impressive...ya think? lol

Another great series for the Mets. Kind of demoralizing though that they're still on the outside looking in.

Yankees....woof. Bad stretch right now. Team isnt hitting well. Their defense hasnt been too great either. But when this team doesnt mash they lose because their pitching staff is a complete utter joke.

There has been a lot of discussion this year, especially by the guys in the booth, of this team compared to prior ones. Specifically the 1998 team. What is neglected every time is the ‘98 team had a pitching staff that could go out and just win games on their own with minimal run support. They had guys who can shut it down if the team was looking lethargic at the plate and in the field.

Pitching wins championships. This team does not have the right recipe. I have said it all year and last, Larry Rothschild needs to go. The Staff seemingly doesnt improve under him. They simply just tread water. They just get by. And the biggest issue that bum cant resolve is the 1st inning ambush that every starter is a victim of. These guys dont attack the zone. They try and nibble around the edge all too often, leading to walks a lot. And then when they miss, they miss right over the plate to get hammered. There is just so much bad with this staff.

I agree, as it is they aren't winning anything. There is a chance Severino returns and is lights out and/or Tanaki turns in a few more playoff miracles, but who's feeling comfortable having to rely on that happening? Don't understand what the hesitation is in letting Rothschild go already... the evidence is mounting that it's him and not the pitchers.

speaking of 'fringe playoff teams'...cleveland is now 3.5 behind the twins and 1/2 game behind oakland & tampa in the wild card. out of the playoffs

not demoralizing at all imo if you consider where they were a month ago...a month ago they were behind like 12 teams and it looked completely unrealistic. right now they are right in the thick of it.

I fully expect they’ll lose 2 of 3 this weekend then go right back to winning. The Braves simply have their number the last 2 years

in addition to familia...avilan and wilson have been really good lately. that has been a solid boost in the middle innings...

but I still think we need diaz to get straight...my hopes aren't high there right now, but if he doesn't get right at least to an extent he will cost us. he'll pitch in too important of spots to hide the struggles. so its great to see the others picking it up and minimizing the impact but he is still a key.

lugo's stats are interesting...obviously ERA for a reliever can be misleading cause 1 bad outing can skyrocket it but looking at lugo's era by month

March: 0.00
April: 4.60
May: 0.96
June: 4.85
July: 0.00
August: 6.48

So he has alternated between amazing and terrible...hopefully that pattern continues into september

Ill say this, the team plays so different at home. When they went to Atlanta and Kansas City, there was no atmosphere. The Braves fans NEVER show up in the regular season and KC is so out of it. The home games have feel to them. I'm sure going into Philly and Washington next week will be kind of like the atmosphere at home, although the Nationals fans are very Braves like. Philly will be intense if they are still in it.

It was a huge week for the As. They swept the Yanks and the Mets swept the Indians.

Lowrie had a 122 wRC+ last year. He had a 119 the year before that. It's not a one year fluke thing with him.

This team can go out this weekend and take 2 of 3 from the Dodgers. But it likely wont be because of a lights out pitching performance and I will still have the seed of doubt in my mind as we inch closer to the playoffs. I dont have any confidence with any starter when they toe the bump. Never going into any game. Even Tanaka has his warts and this year there has been more bat on ball against him with good contact. Its so uncomfortable.

We just dont have an ace. Look at what just happened in Oakland. We sent out German and Tanaka. German has X amount of wins, which i know is misleading because he has been hit around too and taken deep quite often, but nevertheless he does lead us in wins. So thats really 2 of our best we sent out there. And neither could go out and nail it down. The even more frustrating part is we jumped out to early leads in the first 2 games. Like what a shit show it is that your SP’s cant back that up in the 1st inning.

Lots of frustration that has been there all season no mater how many wins we have.
