Avilan has been great since coming of being injured, but you HAVE TO keep the ball in the ballpark, and oh btw.....J wanted Lugo for a 3rd inning. He will be on the shelf for 2 days regardless........so why not give him a 3rd when he only pitched 18 pitches. Bad Calloway, bad boy.

Need a nice miracle Mets win here.

Great win by the Mets. Team is proving themselves against good competition

Meanwhile in Yankee land we cant stop giving up HRs. If we falter this year it will all be on Cashman’s head for not improving the Rotation.

It's his achilles heel. His evaluation of starters has been consistently awful.

66-60 now
7-4 since the Nationals series
1.5 out of the WC
Most home games left of anyone in the majors
McNeil, Nimmo and Lowrie on way back to the big club
As good a SP as any team in the majors
Solid clutch hitting
No opposing team wants to play us

Did I miss anything? LOL

I like our chances that we'll be one of the two WC teams come October...

best thing that happened to the mets all year was jed lowrie getting hurt, forcing them to play JD Davis every day
Jed who? Just a figment of all Mets fans imagination. (Think he's playing golf witb Cespy) I will believe he is alive when I see him......then again, we dont need a "rusty" Jed to ruin this good stuff going on here. Okay, buh bye Altherr and Tejada when Brandon comes back as well. I mean, this will be quite a boost for the very weak bench we have......despite all the winning. Its all about the belief they have in one another.
I have given up on Altherr, and I guess Reuben needs consistent at bats. Not happening though.

I did miss something: 26-10 since the all-star break...best in the majors.

I'm old enough to remember as it was first pennant race I ever experienced but I'm getting a 1973 combined with 2015 vibe from this current Met team and that is a very very good combination.

panik is hitting .343 thru 11 games as a met...385 since mcneil went down. couldn't have dreamed he'd be that good. been a huge pickup

and not sure whats gotten into juan lagares that he can hit again...hitting .448 over the last 8 games.

be great if we ever get a few injured players back and actually have a bench

there was a sighting yesterday...i posted the undoctored video of him running to first and 24 hours later a new injury hasn't been announced yet. complete miracle.

a boost to the bench would be huge...i'm pessimistic about nimmo coming back and contributing given his injury. but would be huge to get him back.

the key obviously is mcneil...and then if you get 1 or 2 back between nimmo, dom smith, lowrie and cano its a huge boost to the depth

imagine if cespesdes wasn't a complete waste of space and could be added to this lineup lol
I know my memory is bad, but yet indeed I do remember him. So, he signs this huge Mets contract, swears he loves our team and lo and behold he has played.......what 40-50 games since? I am guessing here.
In the words of the immortal John Lennon; "Imagine". Imagine there is a Cespy, I wonder if you can........no grass below him, nothing but concrete.........
