Haha. Well unfortunately that’s Sunday so MLB rules don't allow the Mets to do that

Going to have to make a trip out to ESPN to see if they'll switch it to Sunday Night Baseball.

Funny enough, after that game on Sunday, the Braves have to travel to Colorado for a make-up game and then fly back east and into Toronto for Tuesday night. Hopefully it f***s them.

I like to let myself believe the announcers are correct about how much influence he has had on Rosario's hitting in order to justify the Cano trade.
Regardless that i am NOT a Canohead, he has probably given Rosie something good, most probably anyway. I also think that Rosie is just so "starstruck" with Cano, that he just simply wants to impress him, which has made him better......more likely that Rosie is just finally getting it. Changed approach, what pitchers are trying to do to him and recognizing pitches better. Cano seems to get a really good kick out of Rosie and vice versa. Its all good there but.....this doesnt justify a damned thing with Cano's pathetic showing as a Met thus far, let alone his overpriced salary.

Maybe Cano isn't as far off as they are leading on. Still think to keep all of our options open, they need to have him out until past 9/1. No need to rush him.

McNeil might fall into a similar situation, especially if they are winning games. Let him get 100% for the final month. One of them before 9/1 is doable because they can option Guillorme. I believe every other player that is an IF would require a DFA, unless that DFA is Altherr, then f*** it.

It's not talked about alot but I for one have been very impressed with Alonso's defense for the most part this year. I thought he was supposed to be a slug at 1B but he's far from it and he seems to be getting better as the season rolls on.

I know he sometimes thinks he can get to everything hit his way and doesn't have the awareness at 1B that he should as what occurred in Atlanta a few times, but that we'll eventually work itself out as he gets more experience.

Overall tho, Alonso besides at the plate obviously, he's also a positive in the field and that to me is quite the pleasant surprise.

It's August and he still does this. It should have worked itself out in the minors.

As I said, he did it a few times in the Atlanta series and it was noticeable seeing it cost the Mets some runs. Does he still have things to work on? Absolutely...he's not perfect and still needs to work on things.

But overall and this is the point of my post, he's been surprisingly pretty damn good in the field....that's all.

Stroman missing time would be awful. The Mets have a very good 1-5. Their 6th starter is a tire fire though.

Hopefully this offseason they look at a few vets that could go to AAA and be decent. The Ervin Santana's of the world don't really give me reason to be excited. Lockett and company aren't ideal.

Have to think they skip his next start and go with 4 through the rotation like they mentioned on the broadcast or maybe a bullpen game

Meanwhile the Mets dfa hechavaria who is picked up by the braves and homers.

Who needs Hechavaria when you have the Juan Lagares's and Luis Guilorme's of the world playing solid field and getting clutch hits like tonight? lol

I kid..I kid. Not surprised Hech hit a homer. It's kind of normal for ever since I became a fan back in the early 70's, that once a player who blows chunks with us leaves us, he typically goes off for his new team.

Case in point for shits and giggles, go check out Travis D'Arnauld's #'s in Tampa since we DFA'd him...it will make you laugh out loud they are so good. He's still be with us had he been able to do what he's doing for the Rays.

Hech did this when he was called up here from AAA. Happens with tons of players. A spark in their game after getting picked up.

He'll slump in the not so distant future, but not sure the Braves care too much. He's there as a glove. We saw Camargo and Culberson messing up quite a few plays a week ago. Holding the fort down for Swanson

This was a very bad move. But guess that Hechy and Louie are kind of redundant and apparently chose one of their own guys.
Especially bad that the Braves got him. They KNOW talent and Hechy has it.

Ollie with Luis Tiant impersonation on 1st pitch and then quick pitching. Maybe he should stop playing games within the game? Then again, at his age.....maybe that's what is keeping him going.

Alrighty then. I guess we are going to experience the old walk off.......a jubilation filled, uniform tearing, Gatorade splashing, sunflower seed throwing, shaving cream dousing and piling on at the plate *win.*

*- not necessarily in that order.

P.S. Does Lugo go a 3rd inning if above doesn't happen?

Hech isn't going off anywhere. Dude sucks.

I don't want a blast i want the scenario where they have to bring in the outfielders with the bases loaded. More extended excitement.
