Well well well...what do you know? A fairly low agida at least from a Met point of view(lol) matter of fact W tonight as deGrom once again shows why he's so damn good and Alonso comes thru in the clutch once again for us.

So we move on to tomorrow where if we can take care of business, we'll be back to 4 games over .500 with a win and head home for 3 big series vs the Indians, Braves and the Cubbies with some confidence again.

Mets are pretty much doing what I expected and hoped that they'd do when the beginning of this difficult 34 game stretch commenced vs the Nats last week in order to hang around in ths WC race. And that was play close to .500 ball as they are now 4-4 since the Nats series.

Win tomorrow..no excuses!

Worst thing about this K.C series wasnt even yesterdays loss, nor J.D.'s possible injury.

Gary Apple. He shouldn't be anywhere near pbp booth.
Horrific. Similar to whats his name when he replaces Sam from time to time.

Once again Calloway made some strange moves. He PHs JD Davis in a spot where you really just want the ball in play. Despite the fact Panik is a lefty he’s a bit less strikeout prone than JD is. I think the correct move there is to leave Panik in. Also, Wilson pitching the 8th was awful. He had pitched 2 of the last 3 days and you really need that win. Lugo needs to go 2. There has yet to be a homerun in this series by the way. I’m not so sure about today. Wheeler is no sure thing and Sparkman has been solid 2 of last 3 for KC. I think it may be like a 8-6 game

I was fine with everything Callaway did last night. My only minor gripes was I may have gone to Familia in the 8th since it was 8-9-1 and he's been pitching better of late. I think it would have been a boost to his confidence putting him in a somewhat high leverage situation like that. I also would have considered using Diaz in the 9th since it was a 3 run lead but with the bullpen up behind him. Again, a confidence thing but I totally get Lugo closing because you can't jeopardize the win.

As for Panik, he tends to hit ground balls and the last thing you want is the double play there. JD against the lefty was the totally right call IMO.

I don't really see how CC has a role on the playoff roster outside of bench enforcer. They can keep throwing him out there since they have such a big lead in the division, but I don't think you can do anything with him in October, hope he proves me wrong though, because I love the big fella.

He's had a great career but he's washed up. It is what it is.

Someone's gotta explain to me why the Mets have been insistent on carrying 8 pitchers and thus carrying a short bench when they have an off day every Monday this month. Now Rosario's' gonna be forced to play left to finish the game because they only have 3 healthy outfielders.

They are just teeing off on Dick Lovelady right now.

Pete was thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to number 40. Granted it was also thiiiiiiiiiiiis close to a foul ball lol.

I like to let myself believe the announcers are correct about how much influence he has had on Rosario's hitting in order to justify the Cano trade.
