Yeah, that's tough, though. The return for Yelich was far greater than the return for Stanton, especially considering Starlin Castro is now somehow like one of the worst regular players in baseball this year. Devers and Guzman are still pretty solid prospects, but that's it. It was basically like, "We can buy Stanton or trade a lot more for Yelich."
Yelich was worth the return and then some. He would have been a much better fit for the team. You can't prospect hug all the time.

I don't know how any team is going to beat Houston this year... especially with Alvarez looking like a cyborg. A lot of things will have to go right for the Yankees

All any team needs is to get hot at the right time. Look at the Yankees in 2017. They were one of the worst teams in my opinion in the playoffs in regards to a roster that was postseason caliber and were loaded with inexperience yet they got hot at the right time and if not for them having issues winning on the road probably would have won the World Series

I didn't want to bring up the Braves but since we are here, this series coming up could get things really interesting. Getting 2 of 3 from that team could be the beginning of something.

That stadium isn't too kind to the Mets. Something about being down there really screws with this team. Hoping this momentum can counter that.

Noah raised the hammer tonight, deGrom needs to drop the hammer on the Nats tomorrow. You really wonder what that team is thinking. They revamped their bullpen and they still can't get Mets hitters out. It's not even the same guys!

All I wanted from the Mets was to go 4-2 in these 6 games. They’re 2-0 already. If they lose today and win 2 of 3 vs Atlanta or win today and only win one there I’m fine with it. I don’t believe that Atlanta will blow the division and the Mets don’t really have their best starters going for that series. At the very least they will miss Soroka

Seemed Alonso is blaming himself for that play. Maybe he threw it a bit too hard, as he had plenty of time once caught. Jake is really at fault there. Then he threw it badly to Ramos. Very unlike Jake, but that's baseball.

If anyone thinks this game is OVER, you're simply not getting it. Not enjoying the ride. No guarantees, but we can come back, have before and can again.....lots of game remaining.

Oh yeah, our poor pitching starved Mets. All they will be starting will be Wheeler, Matz and Stroman. How many teams in the league wish they had those 3 on their team?

That's what I'm talking about.

That's what I was talking about with regards to Panik and why I wanted Brodie to sign him pronto.

Just an occasional key base hit every now and again. Well done Joe and welcome to the Mets. You are now officially a Met...lol

And once again...a 3 run deficit dissapears as we tie it up as now McNeil comes thru

It's just phenomenal the resilience of this team

It happens every game we fall behind by a few runs, we come back and score a few runs...rinse repeat.

Have I mentioned how much fun this is?

OK time to go to a pool party and have a few cocktails...catch you guys later

LETS GO METS!!

Nats had that 3 zip lead for what......what seemed to be like 20 minutes? They have to feel snakebitten and cannot derail this Mets team.
Jacob has a 2nd life here now.

Theyre talking about Atlanta and a few players they are missing. Need I remind them that we have been without Nimmo for approx. 80 games, a key contributor in Dom Smith and now Cano, albeit he has been horrific but still an ever present threat.

We ever get at least 2 of those 3 back......we should be even deeper for the stretch run.

I know Frazier is a dead pull hitter, but he HAS TO get that runner over. You see Panik rolls over to 2nd that would have gotten a run home.

the mets have a really tough schedule over the next month...but as a mets fan the stretch that terrifies me are the 10 games against colorado, cincinnati and miami leading into the final series against atlanta

I don't disagree.

Like I said, we are spoiled. Literally my only gripe is the Red Sox being more spoiled the last 20 years. And no, they don't ****ing get their turn. They get what comes out of my nose when I have the flu.

I'm not sure i'd blame it on being spoiled over the years as much as the result of the division being a run away this year. its hard to get excited about every game when the team is virtually in cruise control with a near double digit games leads for 2-3 months already. past years even if the playoffs were safe, they were neck and neck with boston so each game had importance and intensity because of the importance of winning the division and avoiding the 1 game wild card.

haven't seen the mets fail to cash in on chances late in the game often lately...that was one of them.

also i bet that if the nats challenged that hit by pitch and brought alonso back to the plate he hits a 2 run homer which is probably why they didn't challenge just look at it like an IBB
