Put it in the books!
Darnit Krams...you stole what I was going to say...lol

Anyone who has any more doubts that God has officially become a Met fan, I give you the last two games as proof.

The fact that Luis Guillorme, he of the .182 BA hits a game tying 8th inning HR has me still shaking my head. Un f***ing Real what is going on.

This is so much fun...just amazing.

What did I just ****ing tell ya...Guilarme...HR...Tied 3-3.

The baseball gods are obviously Met fans these days...too much...unreal...lol
Not sure if I want to kiss you or hurt you. Made my previous post and accidentally saw your post......apparently I was behind and didn't realize it.
Was temporarily bummed as I just had a feeling that Soto was going to hurt us again.......seemed Lugo didnt have it (too much rest, 5 days?)
Then I saw your post and it took the fun away by knkwing, but relieved my anxiety as well. Should I say thanks, or put you on my hit list?

What's really pretty wild is this game as well as last night had the feel of a late September balls to the walls type of game that determines whether you are going to the playoffs or not.

We are not even into the middle of August yet!!!!! This is just nuts. There are 45 of these type games left. Last time I or any of us Met fanatics dealt with something like this was 2015 when after that years trade deadline when we got Ces, seemingly every game we played the rest of that year was huge.

Well boys buckle up and settle in cause we clearly are going to be going on a ride and doing that 2015 once again. As Bart Scott so famously said back in 2011 after my beloved Jets upset the Patriots in the AFC divisional round in Foxboro...."Can't Wait"!!!!....

I don't think any team in NYC has gone on this type of run in a long time and in the position the Mets were in when it started.

The year Sanchez came up for the Yankees and they went on a run in August/September is the last time I remember a team going from average/below average to good, but it was too late for that squad.

Rangers/Isles/Devils? That rarely happens. Nets and Knicks were lolworthy for years and football you have so little time that if you fall behind early, it is usually over.

Guillorme clearly changed his swing this offseason. He never pulled pitches last season, maybe offspeed pitches inside, but an inside fastball? It's surreal and such a wild thing to even think about.

And how's this for even more good vibes?

The friggen piece of garbage Marlins came back and scored 4 runs bottom of the 9th and beat the Braves in extras which now leaves us a more manageable 7 games behind them for the division.

For those of y'all who don't recall, we were at one time and don't quote me on this but I believe we were 14 games behind them about a month ago. Tho it's still a long way's away, it's not as crazy as it once was that we can start thinking that the division is an outside possibility. Braves have a great lineup but there pitching despite looking good on paper, doesn't seem to be jelling like they thought and so they are vulnerable.

Just something to keep in the backs of your mind as we still currently incredibly in the 2nd WC spot tied with the Brewers and Cards.

Just phenomenal what has happened over past month.

The last New York team to consistenly write stories every night would probably be the 2012 Yankees who clinched the division and won the first round hitting walkoff after walkoff.

They had a crazy comeback in the 9th inning of game 1 of ALCS and then needed a sacrifice to win that game in extra innings. They didn't get it and went onto lose. That was the night the magic ran out for that team and they got swept.

Even the 2014 Rangers, at their peak, were just clowning teams. It wasn't exactly a narrative. Sure, there's the thing with MSL's mom which absolutely created a magic moment in game 6, but if Fleury doesn't post a .972 save percentage the first 4 games, that series is over the night she died.

If anything, the Kings got those crazy games to beat us.

I love how active the Mets community is in this thread recently.

Yankees talk has gotten stale. They win a lot, and if they don't, it's for the same old ****ing reasons for three straight years now.

It's pretty simple hoss as I eluded to it a week or so ago when I compared Yankees and Mets.

Mets every once in awhile get thrown a bone from the gods and they give us a magical year to grasp onto(ie...1999-2000, 20006-2007, 2015-2016). It looks the gods convened and decided that despite how crappy Mets looked for first 3 month, we'll give them some love the rest of the season and we'll see what they do with it.

Yankees EVERY year are shown some love and they ALWAYS have good regular seasons. Its all about how they do in the post season for them.

Met fans are so starved for success, we grasp onto anything positive even regular season success. With Yanks, its all about the post season hence what your seeing now with us Met knuckle heads getting all pumped up and Yankees seemingly on the quiet side.

That's my story and I'm sticking too it.

I don't disagree.

Like I said, we are spoiled. Literally my only gripe is the Red Sox being more spoiled the last 20 years. And no, they don't f***ing get their turn. They get what comes out of my nose when I have the flu.

we've won 1 title in 20 years. that's not spoiled

I didn't want to bring up the Braves but since we are here, this series coming up could get things really interesting. Getting 2 of 3 from that team could be the beginning of something.

That stadium isn't too kind to the Mets. Something about being down there really screws with this team. Hoping this momentum can counter that.

Noah raised the hammer tonight, deGrom needs to drop the hammer on the Nats tomorrow. You really wonder what that team is thinking. They revamped their bullpen and they still can't get Mets hitters out. It's not even the same guys!

I probably despise the Braves the most from a historical perspective, since the Fulton County Stadium days.

I am spent, these last 2 games have taken a lot out of me. Way too much emotion coming from a man that has been emotionless.....just ask my GF.
Have to get some sleep now, early game tom. Gary and Ron gave deGrom a nickname that i cant recall right now.....about him being even better during the day games.
