I like this decision. Drag it out, we got nothing to look forward to besides these two call ups and Noah returning. Wait one series, and then call Dom up for the series after this one, lets not waste all the excitement for one game.

love love love this deal for both the yanks and oakland. Yanks just officially opened their window a yr or 2 early (i thought it would be open in 2019 personally) with Gray. Out of Mateo/Florial Mateo was the biggest risk. And with the injuries that fowler/kap sustained (major career altering in some cases) they have major ? attached to them. They managed to hold on to the top 5 organizational prospects for one of the biggest gets at teh deadline.

The biggest difference I've noticed from Severino this season (at least most games), He could not have his best stuff and instead of like last year he would get blown up and give up run after run, this year he competes and at least gives you a quality start. 5 innings pitched 1 ER isn't great, but what he had tonight and the defense letting him down some as well I'll take it.

I only follow baseball very casually. Anyone got a hockey comparable for me?

Its hard to find a comparable for hockey because prospects are judged so differently, the positions are just very different.

I guess you could say he's comparable to a defenseman due the defensive side of the game has been there for years, the offensive improvements have come a little later to be more of a potential five tool player in his prime and he has 4 and a half tools already, so its getting there, but the earliest tools were his athleticism, hit tool and feel for the game defensively.

Maybe like Jones or Parayko, something like that.

The Yankees getting out of the AL isn't the problem so much IMO as it is beating the Nats or dodgers in the World Series. I'd give them a shot vs LA and next to none vs the Nats

Nats last postseason series win was?
