You think Heyman watches these prospects play?
Heyman didn't suggest he watched the prospects play. He is reporting what scouts are saying.

This was from a writer of Sox-prospects.com. Rule 5 guy, 5 ERA in A ball, remember Domingo Tapia? If your 100 results in runs, its irrelevant how hard you throw.

2 more years of control after this one, no one thinks Gray puts them over the top this year.
Not to mention you're completely contradicting yourself in these two posts. They trade Reed, underwhelming. Then you want them to dump the other players. When their return comes back, I'm sure it'll be underwhelming too. Never satisfied.
It's almost like you read what he said and not what you wanted him to say.
Justin Wilson also was not a rental. He has another year of control. So do guys like Britton and Brach. Hand has two years.
Reed was a pure rental. 2 months of a player. He was not Chapman quality. He was not going to be a closer for anyone, except maybe Washington.
You're comparing two months of Reed with 1 year and 2 months of Wilson. That extra year of control has value. Not to mention Wilson has been substantially better than Reed. He's LH and throw nearly 100. He has 55Ks in 40 IP and a sub 1 WHIP. I'd say his value is pretty substantially higher than Reed's. He also did not need to be moved. Reed basically had to be traded before 4PM today.
We don't know the context of the conversation with the scout. I wouldn't take that to mean its a good trade, that tweet is nice, its not a bad thing, but it doesn't override other reports.
Here's another take from someone who's paid to watch these players.
