Quintana is still good, he just had a very bad start to the year. However, he's not the type of pitcher I'd trade a Frazier or Torres for.

He's having a bad year this year. 4.49 ERA, higher whip, higher walk rate, same HR rate, could he find it? sure..

Here's the thing though, Tanaka could also find it as well, and he doesn't cost a Gleyber Torres or Clint Frazier.

If we traded one of them for Quintana and he's what he is now, then what?..

The ones who complain about Tanaka this season but wanted to give up a haul for Quintana really really confuse me. What if Quintana is what he is now and we would have traded Torres or Frazier?. Quintana has been good in the past but 2017 is all that matters. Tanaka has just as good of a chance to dominate the 2nd half as quintana does and he is already ours. Wait til the iron is hot then strike

He's 28. He's pitched much better since the start of June. One of the most underrated pitchers in the game. Quintana is a very good #2.

He's also pitched 7 innings once in those last 7 starts. so yes he didn't give up any runs, but he pitched 5.1, 5.0, 7.0, 6.1, 6.2, 4.1 and 5.1..

The past few years he has pitched like a 2, jury is out what he will be going forward or if the league has figured him out some.

Not willing to trade torres or Frazier unless its for a true impact starter.

I wouldn't move Torres for cole either. Stud middle infielder's are hard to come by and if the Yankees are going to follow the Cubs model, they need to identify their bats first and then add the pitching later. Sanchez and Judge are an excellent duo to start with, but those 2 alone won't be enough. They're deep in the OF, the move for an SP has to come from there because they're not nearly as deep with IF prospects, especially up the middle.

They have 2 guys in the major leagues right now who are not even in their primes up the middle... controlled for at least 3 to 4 more years.

now am I going to trade Torres? No.. but... the middle infield of the Yankees major league team is not an issue.

I don't trust Castro to continue to do what he's been doing and Didi really shouldn't block anyone.

I'd move one or the other before I trade Torres. Ideally I'd sell high on Castro.

You act like Didi is some kind of stopgap. He's become a legit top SS.

As much as I do like Castro, I can see the Yankees selling high on him at some point.

That being said, they're grooming Torres for 3B, so it's not really an issue. Unless Andujar eventually plays 3B, and they move Torres to 2B (then trading Castro).

They figured him out after 4 years? April/May was just a rough patch. Quintana isn't a true impact starter? You add him to Tanaka and Severino and that's a very good 1-2-3 (assuming Tanaka rebounds).

Legit #1 yes but i also think you underrate pitching in general. Good #2s aren't easy to get.

If they could have gotten something done without Torres or Frazier I would have been for it, at this point, i'm only trading one of them for a top of the rotation arm.

His walks per 9, Homerun rate, and his hits per 9 keep going up, that scares me, especially going to YS.

Didi is a top SS? Good player but he's not even top-5 SS in AL.

Like Tanaka, I think this season is an anomaly for Quintana. He'll rebound, but still glad the Yankees didn't trade Frazier or Torres for him.

If Tanaka returns back to form, I'm not sure we needed Quintana. Tanaka (as himself), Severino, Montgomery is fine to build off for the rotation going forward and into the off season. and we still get to keep Gleyber and Frazier.

Didi is a 2-3 WAR player. He isn't bad, but hes hardly a needle mover.

I'd keep him over Castro because Starlin's glove is that bad at 2b. I also don't trust him to keep hitting the way that he's been hitting.

Torres was only being groomed for 3b this year. He'll be back to playing somewhere up the middle when ST starts next year.

Chris Flexen is looking like a stud.

Tim Tebow has 3 HR and an OPS of .972 over 50 ABs in A+. A lot of people made fun of him and the Mets when he was promoted from Columbus, but the dude just ignored it and continued to go to the park each day and put in work. I always had a strong dislike for him, but the way he has handled this MiLB thing has given me a new respect for him.

Was never his biggest fan either, but I respect the hell out of his passion and drive to be a professional athlete. Good for him for doing well. I'm sure he could be making a ton more money sitting behind desk at espn talking about the college football.
