Fowler exploded into that wall. It looked so awful.

He hopped around on one leg, took a single step with the other and collapsed immediately.

FWIW Colon's FIP is identical to Gsellman's and better than Harvey's. If the Mets want another arm to trot out every fifth or sixth day or if guys stay injured then I wouldn't mind them bringing back Colon. That's assuming he's bought out and becomes a free agent. He'd sell tickets and provide some enjoyment down the stretch if nothing else.

Fowler ruptures his patella tendon in the first inning of his MLB debut. You can't make this stuff up. I feel terrible for the kid.

Awful news, hate to see someone so good who's just starting out go down with a possible career ending injury.

I heard today that his recovery timeline puts him at around February. I'm hoping he's able to prep himself for spring training next year.

Between Torres and Fowler and Bird, it reinforces why I think you should go for it if you have a legitimate shot even if you're ahead of schedule or whatever. Guys get hurt, guys regress, guys become disgruntled, etc. Things may look like they're setup perfectly for the future but that can change really quickly.

Not saying the Yankees should make any panic moves, but if they're in contention at the TDL they absolutely should make moves to reinforce the team. It's always fun to think about how bright the future can be, but it's never a given that it works out.

I'd rather see Pill and Montero.

deGrom over his last 4 starts: 4-0, 32 IP, 31 K, 0.84 ERA, 0.69 WHIP

I believe you but those Ks seem way low

He had 12 tonight, but he was more efficient with his pitches the prior three starts which allowed him to work 8 innings twice and then the complete game. 7, 6, and 6 Ks before tonight.
