Seriously the Mets and Yankees seem to both be getting injured at ridiculous rates. The Yankees pale in comparison but it still seems to be way above the league average.

It's all been an avalanche of injuries in the past month for the Yankees. Before that, there wasn't much but now it's gotten out of control.

There may have been a hint of truth in what Montero said, Turner was quoted after the game as saying he was trying to capitalize on Arrieta's deliberate delivery to the plate. It obviously doesn't matter though, you just don't go there. Montero is also a laughable 3% CS on the year. Incredibly selfish and surprising coming from a veteran. Good move by the Cubs to cut ties with him quickly.

We complain about the meaningless cookie cutter press conferences but when someone says what's on their mind...how dare they.

What Montero said is completely true. The cubs have one of the worst staffs in the league at holding on runners. Arrieta, Lester, and Lackey are particularly awful and have been for years. Contreras hasn't been any good throwing out runners there either he's at like 30% (obviously not the lol level of Montero but still).

Think I read Montero's pop time was like fifth-worst in MLB.

Makes no sense whatsoever....

Why even bother bringing him up, and send sending him down after he had an awesome game debut?

Andujar needs to be playing every day at 3B, and he needs to show that he will be capable of playing 3B at the MLB level. I'm sure they called him up thinking Austin's injury would be short term, but now that it seems more serious, they needed to bring back an every day 1B (as much as Carter sucks, Romine/Headley can't be your long term 1B solution). I'm sure we'll see more of Andujar later this year.

They need to trade for a 1B already, plenty of assets to get one without touching any of the top 4 prospects.

Andujar optioned to AAA...

after a 3 hit 4 RBI game...
