Disagree. Stay put and just do what they've been doing for the past year or so.

I mean i definitely am ok with nothing being done. But a guy like Quintana has a lot if value because of team control moving forward.

Tanaka was pretty good tonight. Back to back quality starts. If he has turned a corner him combined with Severino, Montgomerey, and CC is pretty formidable moving forward.

But good Lord, ANDUJAR. This kid can flat out hit. What a presence at the plate. Looks like a ten year vet up there. I just worry he is a piece they might trade. But they should do everything to avoid it. I loved this kid in spring training and he continued to hit all year in AA and the short stint in AAA. Him and Torres along with Frazier and Rutherford should be non-starters.

Have a feeling Dustin Fowler was scratched as part of a trade and not because the Yankees are calling him up. They can get away with an OF of Gardner/Ellsbury/Judge/Wade right now.

Quintana does make lot of sense because 1. he's good and 2. team control (4years). The other 2 don't. Have no desire what so ever to part with good prospects for Abreu or Robertson. Especially Robertson.

Dallas Keuchel and Yu Darvish are free agents after next season. Love Keuchel. I'd be extremely weary of Darvish.

Gerrit Cole is a free agent after 2019 season. Pirates won't let him walk. Cole probably gets traded this offseason or next trade deadline. My guess would be next year's deadline.

I really think if they can get one more top of the rotation starter, such as a #2, and one more decent bullpen arm, this team can do something special.

Where they get those pieces, I dont know. They have a ton and i mean a ton of offensive talent that extends into their AAA and AA squads. Its scary.

I'm not convinced Smith is going to be that good. He's shown a very concerning lack of power for a 1B prospect - in particular one playing in that bandbox in the PCL. I'm not particularly excited about a potential James Loney clone.

Completely agree. I'd trade Duda, trade Smith, try to get Duda back in free agency.

If Austin goes on the DL today, Fowler is coming up. They won't make any moves until it's closer to the deadline.

But why? Why add him to a rotation when he can keep getting regular at bats in AAA
Looks like they want his bat with the big club. He's ready. The only issue is that they're running out of 40-man spots without cutting someone of value.

His bat is definitely ready but Id rather him play everyday until we know who we want to lose off the 40 man for sure and when we absolutely have him playing everyday.

He won't sit on the bench if he comes up. He can rotate with Gardner & Ellsbury, like they were doing with Hicks. His glove is ready too.

Fowler has been called up.

The Baby Bombers are taking over. Wonder what the lineup will be tonight.

Gardner - LF
Andujar - DH
Judge - RF
Sanchez - C
Didi - SS
Fowler - CF
Wade - 2B
Torreyes - 3B

The Mets have Alonso and I think another 1B prospect who may be 2-3 years away. I'm guessing they're gonna take their chances with Smith and if he busts they can probably just put Flores there for awhile. I think if the Mets totally fall out of it what they do with Smith will be telling. If he's not called up it probably means they're leaning heavily towards trying to sign Duda and are hiding Smith so he isn't exposed.

I'm still not sure Flores hits enough to play first regularly.

He's had some insanely good ABs recently. I think he's had 5 ABs in the last 10 games of 10 pitches or more. The problem is it seems his power has dropped off this year as he tries to make more contact vs righties. I think in a full season his ceiling is 300 with 20 homers and 100 RBIs and maybe an 830-850 OPS. Generally not considered good enough for 1B, but if it's not for more than a couple of years it may work.

I'll be shocked if Bird comes back this season. The potential to miss two years of development can't be good for his long term career prospects.
It's very disappointing. He killed it in ST, dings up his legs and now could potentially miss the entire year. Brutal.
