That loss was as bad as it gets for the Yankees. The bullpen is a disaster zone. 6 walks and 1 hit batter in the last 2 innings is atrocious.

Create a package deal for Quintana, Robertson, and Abreu. Fills all of our needs. Get it done.

Lineup moving forward when healthy:

Hicks- CF
Castro- 2B
Judge- RF
Sanchez- C
Abreu- 1B
Holliday- DH
Didi- SS
Headley/Wade/trade- 3B
Gardner- LF

Ellsbury
Austin
Bird
Torreyes
Romine

Tanaka
Quintana
Severino
Montgomerey
CC
Pineda (maybe trade him)

Could see Andujar being part of the deal with White Sox

Shreve
Green
Clippard
Warren
Robertson
Betances
Chapman

Puts as at 26-27 roster players so im not sure if they would send Austin down or a reliever

I don't think the Yankees are going to give up on Bird that easily to replace him with Abreu for the foreseeable future.

Duda should cost a lot for a rental. Not an all-star, but just below. A lot of HR's, high OBP despite not a very high average, high SLG, okay enough defender at 1B.

Granderson, who was declared completely done after hitting .128 in April, is now up to a 111 wRC+ on the season with an almost identical triple slash as last year.

It's amazing. His WAR is up around 1.3 after being about negative 1.3 after a month and a half.

Unfortunately I don't know if there's much of a market for corner OF's this year.

Shockingly his horrible April performance wasn't predictive of how we would perform going forward and the projections seem to have been correct when they always said he was an above average hitter. Who would have known.

Unfortunately yea he probably doesn't have a huge market. Especially because they have Bruce who will almost certainly garner more in a trade in the first place. He can definitely help a team though if they have an OF get hurt or if they are looking for a good lefty bat. Granderson's been great the last two months. He's been their best hitter. Good to see.

Reed and Blevins probably have the biggest market.

Duda, Bruce, Granderson, who knows. Duda could be appealing to AL teams wanting a 1B/DH-type. I haven't paid much attention this year so I don't know who that would be. Can't imagine many people will want in on Cabrera whose hitting is mediocre and fielding sucks.

I could actually see Houston as a fit for Duda. He'd be a huge upgrade on Gurriel and they could use another strong lefty bat. The Yankees are the obvious fit if they would trade with them and another one is the Dodgers who can use him over Gonzalez (when he's back) and keep Bellinger in the OF. I would like to resign him though.

I have no idea what the UFA market would look like for Duda. I'd like him back for another year because I don't think Smith is ready yet. Does Duda take a one-year deal though? Would someone give him three years? I've paid such little attention this year, I just don't know what the market is like. The last five years that he has played over 100 games his wRC+ has been 136, 103, 120, 135 and 132. It's 139 this year. I always though if he went to the AL where he could DH and just focus on his offense he could really mash.

I'm not convinced Smith is going to be that good. He's shown a very concerning lack of power for a 1B prospect - in particular one playing in that bandbox in the PCL. I'm not particularly excited about a potential James Loney clone.

Yeah IDK about him right now. He started to show the power last year but it has regressed this season (given league/park factors). I could see it shooting up next season or later this season. I'm still hopeful regarding his power but not super optimistic.

Now that being said it seems like he may just need to make the "Yonder Alonso Adjustment" Looking at this profile he hits way way too many ground balls however his GB% has been steadily dropping each year in the minors and he's been hitting more and more fly balls (until this year) but I'd really like to see him to get that FB% in the 45 range to try and unlock some of that power. He actually seems like he's kind of been hitting like Hosmer. Hosmer thinks he's like a speedy middle infielder and just pounds the ball on the ground 55% of the time and still hits 20ish HR's usually because he's really strong. That's a guy if he just tried to hit the ball in the air could hit a ton of homers.

Disagree. Stay put and just do what they've been doing for the past year or so.

Anyone else read about the Miguel Montero/Jake Arrieta situation in Chicago?
