Even if the other teams had a significant drop off the Mets haven't shown anything to suggest they're capable of playing good ball for a sustained period of time.

The pitching is injured and terrible. deGrom has been okay, Matz and Lugo have looked decent in their handful of outings, but Thor is probably done, Gsellman looks more and more like a flash in the pan, Wheeler has been getting shelled lately, and the pen is overworked and flat out awful.

They at least have rentals. Walker, Cabrera (Team option), Granderson, Bruce, Duda, Blevins (Team option), Reed, Salas.

Would it be wise to maybe hold onto Blevins? Yes, but could get something decent. Good LH bullpen arm who can get both sides out are valuable.

Teams in contention getting injuries could help move these guys out.

Team is likely to go young next season anyway. Rosario, Smith, Nimmo, Flores, Cecchini, and Conforto all have chances to carve out starting spots.

Time to see the next wave of position players come here.

Pretty sure there's gonna be an ugly incident in the Mets game tonight. Matz has thrown at guys before. I'd be shocked if Puig isn't hit tonight. I think Roberts may not play him.

You could accept it if it was another player, but everyone knows Puig's reputation and how he acts, he did this on purpose.

Matz threw at Texiera last season. He claimed he didn't but both David Cone and Ron Darling said they were 100% sure it was intentional when he did it so he certainly would seem to have the balls to do it. Surprisingly nothing happened tonight at all

I can't imagine they weren't listening to offers for grandy since they tried to trade him in the off season. Maybe the difference now is they're willing to eat some salary. Would be surprised if they trade harvey now, though.

I did find it kind of funny that Cespedes and Reyes thought they needed to have words with Puig. They are two of the biggest showboaters in the game. Cespedes admires his HR's all the time.

No problem with D'Arnaud or Flores doing it. Neither has been known to showboat.

But in general, Puig is an *******.

He was getting testy earlier in the season when asked about Rosario. I never was thrilled with what I saw of his character, although I obviously don't know him, so its only speculation.

If he wants out, kiss his ass goodbye. It's a lost season so move him out whenever a good offer comes across. And if no good offer comes, move him out for a crappy offer.
