Can't argue. Not a good decision. Clippard is throwing meatballs.

I dont dislike Clippard. I think he has a lot to offer but right now he doesnt have it. And as a manager you cant play ****ing favorites. Youre not a 5th place team. You are a 1st place team only a half game up and youre bringing in a guy who is lost right now.

You gotta be some kinda stupid Girardi.

Girardi is a trash manager. Even more so the Yankees are being even worse continuing with mediocrity when there is real talent in the minors. I'm not sure if they're trying to contend or tank

They have arms down there that they can give a shot. Im not so worried about Pineda. He had a pretty good outing today if not for black hole Carter at 1B. Severino and Montgomery are fine. Tanaka needs to get it together. Its time for Chance Adams.

But seriously get Carter off this fricking team. Anything has to be better than this. Please bring Austin up. Do something because this is embarrassing.

Not like Betances hasnt pitched the 7th before... Not like we didn't have an off day yesterday...

These reasons are why it was absolutely inexcusable for Girardi to bring in Clippard. Inexcusable. Its **** poor managing. Minor league level type managing and again i will reiterate i like Girardi. But thats just selfish to bring in Clippard when Sanchez just hit a huge homerun in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game and take the momentum.

Waiting for the reporters to call him out.

Carter is atrocious at everything

This guy is barely a major leaguer. He is a clown at the plate. Makes no adjustments and continually looks overmatched.

And then i have to listen to Jon Sterling claim the groundball was a tough play. Like are you ******* me Sterling? 99% of first basemen in the league make that play. It didnt hit the lip of the grass. It didnt change direction. This guy is a clown show. He couldnt catch a simple put out in Anaheim and it leads to CC being extended in an inning and getting hurt.

Girardi needs to pull out all the stops. Betances has had plenty of rest lately. He needs to try and pitch him 2+ innings to try and lock up a win. They should be acting that desperately right now.

I miss Andrew Miller.

Even if we had Miller-Betances-Chapman right now, the starting pitching would still be an issue. CC on the DL, Tanaka having a shockingly bad year, Pineda doing great at home but bad on the road, etc. Only reliable starters have been Montgomery and Severino, both very young still.

But yeah, I know what you mean. I miss Miller : (, but I'd still make that trade again.

This.

Or he should have left Shreve in. Clippard cant come in when the game is that close. Not right now. He has to earn that back while coming in during blowouts.

What Girardi did last night made my balls hurt and im still irked today

Greg Bird (ankle, knee) was given a cortisone shot and hopes to resume baseball activities in 3-5 days.
Bird was pulled from a minor league rehab game last week after fouling a ball off his right knee. He's been on the disabled list since early May because of an ankle injury. There is no clear timetable for his return to the Yankees at the moment.

I'm not optimistic about this. Wouldn't be surprised if he has a fracture that hasn't been found.

I'm sick of all the *****ing and moaning these days about how long the games are.

Nobody is sitting there with a gun to your head forcing you to watch the damn ballgame.

And if there is, it's probably worth sticking out the four hours tbh.

I feel the same way. Love it when players work the counts.

Pretty sure there's gonna be an ugly incident in the Mets game tonight. Matz has thrown at guys before. I'd be shocked if Puig isn't hit tonight. I think Roberts may not play him.

Mets season basically ended within the last week.

They'd still be in it during any normal season. Colorado or Arizona will eventually fall off but probably to the point one wins 91-92 games which would still be uncatchable.

Sounds more to me like a high/Achilles ankle tendon issue. Seems to be going through same protocols I went through the last 5 years of my playing days. It'll never ever heal completely. Surgery is only about 50/50 it will work and will force pretty much end of season. He will deal with ramifications of this injury the rest of his life. I'll still faceplant randomly when walking hard surfaces with no ankle support (sandals, heels, etc) and tendons decide nah, we're not gonna work right now and the ankle pops out. It's a good time.

Even if the other teams had a significant drop off the Mets haven't shown anything to suggest they're capable of playing good ball for a sustained period of time.

The pitching is injured and terrible. deGrom has been okay, Matz and Lugo have looked decent in their handful of outings, but Thor is probably done, Gsellman looks more and more like a flash in the pan, Wheeler has been getting shelled lately, and the pen is overworked and flat out awful.
